Ospreys 18 - Saracens 3  Hurrah!

Ospreys, the so called "Glamour" team of Wales comprising no less than 11 of the Triuimphant Welsh Team.  Is my team.

Glamour?  All of us Welsh is Glamourous.  Even if we can't spell.

Guess I am the only Rugby fan on board then?

Is anyone else getting an alien-related ad?

When it appeared at the bottom of my screen, it was partially concealed, and I ended up seeing the following (and, indeed, rather raising an eyebrow at it):

I had adblock installed, but then I upgraded to the 3.whatever beta, where none of the extensions initially worked.  I also had noscript running.  For some reason though, mozilla seems snappier just left to do its own things with the minimum of plugins installed (admittedly I haven't timed it or anything, but there seems to be a tradeoff)

Well Milly, I used to live half a mile away from the Sale ( not Sharks then ) ground and went to several matches. Darn good team too.

No you are not the only rugby fan Anty, I think there are lots of us around.

This new computer of mine is much noisier than the old one.  I could hardly hear anything when the other one was on.  This has a very loud hum.  Hope there's nothing wrong with it.  Sad

My laptop's fan was incredibly loud and noisy when I first got it, but it settled down after 2 or 3 weeks. I guess it had just been dislodged slightly in transit.

Not sure if desktops have cooling fans in the same way, though: your hum may be a different part of the mechanism?

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I'm embarrassed to say this but feel I must come clean.  I stand need to call anybody else stupid!!!

Ahem!  I've found out what the computer noise was.....it was a ceramic tile that I'd slid into the desk opening where the computer sits.  I'd brought it upstairs absent-mindedly after I'd chosen it to be the one for some work I'm having done.  Anyway, it was vibrating against the side of the computer.

Oh hang my head in shame!

What makes it even worse, is that I'm sure it's happened before.  I seem to remember having the same problem a while back with the same cause.

You see it's like this............I've got far too much to do and far too much to remember for everyone else without trying to remember what's happened to me!

Any road oop - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.  Tongue

[/sulk], I hope. It wasn't meant that way, but only in fun. But you knew that.

Incidentally, I found my way down south and back using my credit card.
I am now over my limit and have probably wrecked my credit rating for the moment (but I'm not thinking of buying a house any time soon - hopefully I'll be able to salvage it by then...  Undecided) but the weekend went very well.
