Era solo un mio sospetto

Ah yes! The original word-botcher! I often think of him when I am shaking a tower.

You have tasted a whole worm.  You have hissed all my mystery lectures.  You will leave by the next town drain.

They don't make dons like that any more.

I haven't seen this episode but reading this in the Wiki entry about the film The Horse Whisperer made me laugh:

Quote
On an episode of The Simpsons, Homer claims to be a horse whisperer. All he does, however, is literally whisper in the horse's ear, "When the race starts, run really fast."

My granddad lived in Southwick, so my childhood is full of memories of walks by Southwick beach, Shoreham beach, Lancing beach, Brighton seafront, Hove seafront, etc. etc. I remember the day after the bomb at the Brighton Grand (I seem to remember that the tide was particularly high at the time), walks up to Chanctonbury Ring (one of my all-time favourite walks though I haven't done it for years!) and around Amberley.

Whereas, a mile or two inland, we in the old villages on the city fringes lead an altogether more placid existence:

And it still looks surprisingly like that (but with a lot more cars).

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Bryn, I Gigi is literally at the top of my road! I've frequented that place a lot, but only know the owner (Jane?) a little. It's a classy joint and no mistake, squire.

At the risk of being on-topic (oh hang on, I'll copy and paste this to waffledom), what I meant by my post is that it's up to the individual. So I took Anty's post as her saying that for her, there is a God rather than a categorical statement.
But there's me putting words in people's mouth. I must go and put a pizza in mine.

Some of us believe, some don't.  Some have different Faiths and different Gods.  That is all that needs to be said I think.  Unless you have Word Upon from High I am happy to worship Jesus and The Blessed Holy Trinity as Our Father in Heaven and His Son incarnate on Earth.

It's very easy to sneer at religion, you have to respect others beliefs I think or else it's an easy point scoring exercise

Bugler.  Messed up me quotes again.
