It is really sad. They need doctors here. And I can assure you that Russian doctors are much better (at least for me). They don't give you antibiotics at a drop of a head. They make tests first to find out what they have.
In old Soviet Union medicine was not bad. They tried to prevent rather than treat deseases.

Our doctor here makes test (approximate reading) himself. He doesn't even sends it to the lab.

It is appaling. Here is the worse medical system I saw in my travels around the world.

Well, I am sorry to hear this t-p but you do seem to be amazingly ill. You have rashes, liver problems, arthritis, headaches, nervous problems. ..........

Has it occured to you that you just may be a hypochondriac?? Antibiotics should not be given at the drop of a head or a hat, they are to be used carefully and occasionally.

I am a chronic asthmatic and it is controlled very well by OUR doctors' expertise and drugs. So sorry, I have to disagree, I would not be living such an active life if it weren't for the 'appalling medical service' in this country.

A, don't forget that t-p is in Eire not in the UK.

And I think you agree with each other there.

I am too upset to care for spelling. I have a whole stuck of papers that I am putting together with a tape. This is for gala opera.
And I can not complain because everybody will be tell me to quit. I can not quit now. Next week is performance week. Everything happening one thing after another.

Services are much better in your country, A. But I am not there.
I am in the West of another island. It is bad here. My Irish friends are suffering. Even they run to my friend-doctor. I never thought it could be that bad.
But I am not going to say much more. I heard that I am a hypochondriac for two years. My nerve problems are related to my kidney problem and allergy triggered bad reaction from liver. I can see it now. But it is difficult to understand unless one is in this situation.
I am not going to say anything else. You can think what you like.
I am grateful for your understanding and I am glad that you have a good medical advice. I wish you will always have good care from medical profession.

Deep breath t-p.
When I feel like that I'll stop doing what I'm doing (whether that's checking postings on r3ok, working on a score, folding washing, marking or whatever) and do something different. Have a crash at the piano, or (I like to) sing very loudly, make a cup of tea or find someone to give you a hug.
Then come back to your assembly. I find that a deeply frustrating job. Is there a secret to getting the tape to go straight or even to behave once you've taken it off the spool?

Thank you, hh.
I am used to this kind of work. I don't want to take people's scores. I usually photocopy my part and play from photocopy.
May be I am good at it. I don't particularly fuss over it. I am glad if it is reasonably streight.
I just had tea. I did practice a little. I am have a woolen blanket around me. I feel better when I am warm. Now once I started to cry I have support from him too. I could not cover tears.

Of course I don't forget that , but is it more normal then to be always ill in Eire? Hypochondria? is that more usual in Eire perhaps than in UK?

Hello to everyone here from the biggest hypochondriac in the world.
Eire is the best place to get this afliction. Russia is not a bad place to get it too. In America all people are happy, at least they smile so much that my face was hurting.

Best wishes,
t-p
P.S. Have you notice that there was an economic boom in Eire for the last fifteen years. You should see cars people driving.
I have not seen too many hypochondriacs lately. And they are buying property all over Europe and going on holidays.
Ask people who were here lately.

Hello to the self-styled "biggest hypochondriac in the world".  Actually you have a rival who used to live next door to me.  Yes, you've guessed it!  The Hungarian woman.  She had me running round all over the place for 10 years trying to sort her out.  I failed of course because she didn't want to be sorted out - she just wanted constant attention.

I have never been to Eire, but I do know people who live there and they are not hypochondriacs.  One is having cancer treatment and says that he couldn't have had better treatment anywhere.

Best wishes,

Milly

I've never really believed in hypochondria. I don't believe people pretend to be ill (except people wanting to get a day off school or work). They may fear they are ill when they aren't, but the fear itself is a form of illness, isn't it?

Unfortunately hypochondria does exist Mary.  It occurs in many forms.  As you say, those who fear they are ill when they aren't.  Also those who pretend they are ill because they receive attention.  Hence Munchausen's and Munchausen's by Proxy when a parent does it via a child, or someone via another person.  There are those who feel better if they turn their psychological problems into a physical form, thus finding it easier to handle.  It is a complicated problem and differs from person to person.  Emotional problems can sometimes manifest themselves into physical pain.  I know of someone very close to me who does this.  She has had 10 operations - only 3 of them necessary.  The others were of an exploratory nature after complaining of severe pains in various parts of the body.  All proved inconclusive and no cause was ever found for any of them.  The trouble with people like this is, that one day they will be really ill and having seemingly exhausted all medical processes, will not be taken seriously.  That doesn't mean that they are not ill in other ways.  It can have a mental/psychological cause, an emotional cause - or just be plain attention-seeking from a person who always wants to be the centre of attention.

It makes me really happy to read this (especially at this hour).
Thank you people, you are really nice. I think I am going to check myself in the mental hospital enstead of going to a regular doctor.

Thanks a lot for sorting my problems without even as much as to see me, my tests or anything else for that matter.
From where I come from and with my culture you are crazier than me.
I can see by you how your phychologist and phychology helps you.
good luck. I hope all women here will solve their emotional problems if I am not going to come anymore.
I think you are crazy yourselves.
Listen to your BBC and go to your doctors and march by american flag.

I'm sitting here drinking my cup of green tea, listening to Lachenmann's Tableau and trying to persuade myself that I've had enough breakfast.
[repeat:] I am not going to the shops to buy bacon and eggs or muffins. [:repeat]
I'd like some toast though. Shame I don't have any bread. Maybe I could go and get some bread. I'll need to shower first though. By which point I probably won't want any toast any more. So that's that problem solved.
