As I've recently said not too far away from here: what an absolute hoot of an evening.  Grin

But I think it's sleepytime for Ollie. Night all...

I think we are all in need of warnings before we use our newly-purchased appliances. Like these:

White-Westinghouse 1600 Blow Dryer
Keep away from water

Unknown Japanese Food Processor
Not to be used for anything else

Rowenta Iron
Warning: Never iron clothes on the body

Japanese GameCube Instruction Manual
Do not attempt to stick head inside deck, which may result in injury

Sony Trinitron
CAUTION: Risk of electric shock. Do not open

Arm & Hammer Scoopable Cat Litter
Safe to use around pets

Unknown Toilet Plunger
Caution: Do not use near power lines

Windex
Do not spray in eyes

These remind me of the cans of beans which have a picture of beans and chips on a plate with the comment...'serving suggestions'

Peas should come in pods. Apparently lots of children don't know this.

Shelling peas is a very soothing activity.

Yes, I bought some fresh peas in their pods from Sainsburys last summer when they were in season and the checkout girl had to ask me what they were before she could enter the code on the till.

Somewhere out there there's a joke about minding your peas in queues but I'm blowed if I can pin it down yet.

Here's another of Veronika's favourites.

In similar vein, Veronika would no doubt appreciate this fine example of French concern for the built environment:

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)
