Hi Andy

Yup, your posting was the first I knew about them pulling the thread. I wasn`t actually intending for the `Raining` thread to be closed but, oh well. Absolute idiocy! The expression Ship of Fools comes to mind ....

There're so many threads being pulled over there it's beginning to resemble my very oldest cardie. Or else a battlefield strewn with bloodied corpses. How depressing. Sad Sad

Sheesh! Host on Music matters has posted this

I would like to remind you all that the message board House Rules state that we reserve the right to fail messages which:

- Are considered to be ‘spam’, that is posts containing the same, or similar, message posted multiple times

- Are considered to be off-topic for the particular message board

Repeated breaking of these rules can lead to users being pre-moderated (as is done on the children's message board) or banned completely.

I realise that this may seem petty and I appreciate that many of you have posted to the Radio 3 message board for some time and are upset about the changes. However, if users are unable to participate here without breaking the House Rules, action against them may be taken.

Don`t you just love the reference to the Children`s MB?  Nanny is putting her steel toed Doc Martin down firmly. Off to the Naughty Corner with us all. Those threads that haven`t been closed are full of Hidden posts.

Is it too early for a drink yet?  Angry

Make that 10 closed threads, they`ve just pulled my new one. Mind you, I was rather expecting it so maybe it doesn`t count  Grin Grin

What really gets me is the way, having failed to divert anyone with their manufactured IRCAM thread, they used Alice Herz-Sommer's interview and story as a lure. How low is that?

Quite agree about the cynical way the hosts have used Alice Herz-Sommer's interview. And they're getting a bit like petulant children now, modding almost everything. "Well we did warn you we would if you didn't behave!"

Bryn, yes that was absolutely disgraceful and deeply cynical. It left a most unpleasant taste behind. That`s one thread that should never have reached the board.

Bryn, Mort
Are you sure? 'Cynical'? To me it reeked of desperation (and tastelessness, certainly, although unwitting I'd say). They seem to be trying to goad people into debate about anything remotely connected to the 'show' - it's panicky and incompetent I'd say. And horrid. Not sure I can go there much more.

However, Mort, with a great swathe of removed messages behind it, it has now thrown up something positive. As a result, it makes the early part of the exercise look even more sinister to the casual visitor. My message attacking the opportunism has been allowed to remain. Many thanks to t-p for opening up the chance to both expose their cynicism, and highlight the issues being played around with.

Martle, I don't think a plead of "error of oversight" washes with that particular topic. Even is it was a crass error, rather than exploitation, it needs slapping down, in my view.

No arguments with that last bit, Bryn.
