Oh dear, said Mr Wright Worry, what am I going to do about all the naughty children who won't stay on topic on my new message boards?

Ho!
From Chris – a Host on Music Matters  20/2/07
Repeated breaking of these rules can lead to users being pre-moderated (as is done on the children's message board) or banned completely.

I realise that this may seem petty and I appreciate that many of you have posted to the Radio 3 message board for some time and are upset about the changes. However, if users are unable to participate here without breaking the House Rules, action against them may be taken.

From Soundwave on Music Matters.
Chris. I think that it's about time that you realised that we are not junior employees of the BBC. As your paymasters we are entitled to a good deal of courtesy and understanding and pleasantness from such minions as yourself. Please bear this in mind in future and treat us with a lot more respect and understanding than you have shown so far.

It seems to me that we (i.e the customers) are winning the battle in the Other Place.

Off-topic threads and posts no longer seem to be getting pulled as they were earlier in the week.  All the boards are full of threads about programmes other than the one that is supposed to be the topic of discussion.  It has all become very chaotic.

What do you think is going on?

Nick,

I suspect that there is some kind  of  behind the scenes re-grouping going  on after the carnage of Tuesday. It must be obvious to whoever `they` are that there has been a catastrophic underestimation of how listeners and MBers would react to the breathtaking arrogance pf RW and co. While they are huddled in their bunker, they`ll let the children `play` for a while.  Call me cynical, but it seems too quiet. Pit Bull Chris appears to have been put back in his kennel but someone else will appear to take his/her place, albeit less thug-like. Their  new`Way Forward` has blown up quite spectacularly in their face. What do they do? Back down, say `sorry` and reinstate things to how they were? Pretty impractical and, anyway, highly unlikely.  Carry on regardless with, maybe a few small concessions? . Hmmm, could be done, at least on the MBs, programming would be a bit trickier. We wait and see .....

Having trawled through the threads  there today, there seems to be definite ill-will to this MB expressed by some of the residents. Although if you look at their posting history then it would appear they are just opportunistic trolls. I am not talking about  longstanding regular Posters there, I hasten to add, if any of you are reading this. I will continue to post there because I`m damned if I`m going to be ousted on Beeb say so, but there is such a fraught feel there at present. How sad if the R3 MB was to be closed because of troll acitvity, just like the R2 MBs. Now call me cynical but .....

Thanks for that, Mart. A sorry state of affairs all round. I`ve noticed that my pre-mod time seems to be getting  shorter so, who knows,  by next week I may become a `trusted  member! ? I`ve made constructive comments where I can and, er, smart arse comments when I couldn`t help myself. As you may have seen....
