Not a word over at TOP yet re. tonight's Prom. What a mess th engineering on BBC4 is tonight. Two drop-outs in the audio so far during the Rossini, to add to the spate of 'em during the interval.

There's an absolutely horrible thread over on the other side addressed to the owners of the messageboard. They just seem to be hurling abuse at each other. Somebody called "Goodbye" is trying to remove himself from the BBC database altogether.
What a load of saddos. Depressing to read though. So glad we have this forum - it's much more pleasant over here.

It's interesting, isn't it, that many features of TOP like the intrusive but anonymous moderation, the two-minute rule and the curfew are intended to curtail the activities of trolls and the like, while actually they seem to have the opposite effect compared with here, where we have none of those things...

Don't tempt fate, Richard... But yes, it's grim up TOP right now. I cannot believe they're arguing the toss about 4'33'' - again!

Caro subito,
That tombola di cooperman, he here already, though mostly tacet. Me, I awaits his reappearal with the baited breathings, wherever it may be, this or other place.
I hear you now experimenting with new reed instrumentals from Middle East.
In which case I wish you appropriate Shalomeaux.
Vincenzo.

Your associate Vincenzo seems familiar Ron. Are you quite sure he isn't associated with a Nigerian barrister looking for a loophole to retrieve a very large financial investment, presently in the care of a bank, which formerly belonged to a wealthy industrialist whose entire family perished in a plane crash?

Quite sure, Kitty, though occasional perusal of such missives, not to mention regular visits to the little Italian cafe in Abroath, whose co-proprietrix's already all-but-impenetrable Toscano/Dundonian accent is further mangled by the worst case of adenoids I've ever encountered, proves suitable gathering ground for his worst excesses.
Vincenzo adds that he likes your idea for an opera plot, though, and I rather think it will hardly be long ere he is hawking La Scappatoia to an opera house somewhere in your direction...

Why did Walls go into the ice cream business in the first place? To use up the spare fat from their pies and sausages business.
Hi chaps, a bit of a late arrival at the sausage makers ball, but as I understand it, Walls went into the ice cream business to make use of spare refridgeration capacity during the summer months when sales of sausages were down.

But unless the sausages were frozen, they would be different types of refrigerator. (Or else the ice cream would melt in fridges for sausages.)
