DracoM, A very good post that has been modded for what reason?  Let's hope sense prevails - and in the meantime, there's always the complaint facility......

Tommo

They seem to have dug themselves into a position whereby they cannot retreat without egg on their face.  Ignoring Breakfast and CDR, to tie all comment into two magazine programmes which are essentially lightweight fol de rols, the content of which is instantly forgettable means they don't want any discussion of R3's output.  The silence of the Hosts over there, and the lack of zapping (except for Dracom) surely points to a Today type solution?

In the meantime, has everyone mailed Feedback for March 9th when RW appears?

Thanks Anna - I have just fed back.  Also to Classical Music Magazine, who are featuring RW in their next issue (5 March)

I suspect what 'they' will do is wait until this weekend is over, a lot of people are back at work, and next week, there will be blitz part the second.

If they'd reinstate a catch-all 'Classical Music on Three' type board and 'Speech and Drama' board, a HUGE amount of this trouble would simply stop over night.

Draco, yes. But I suspect we'll see a brutalist regime instituted tomorrow. Backs to the wall everyone. They can't go back on the results of this 'extensive' consultation process without a severe amount of oeuf on the visage. Chris and 'the boys' will be out in force, I suspect. Hope I'm wrong though...

Draco,

I have a sinking feeling that is exactly what is going to happen and we`ll have a Bloody Monday following on from the Bloody Tuesday of last week.

The troll-like behaviour of some mysterious new names aside, there have been many articulate, cogent and reasonable critiscisms and suggestions, not least yours this morning,  for improvement to the current God awful shambles. `Have your voice heard` they say. Unless we don`t like what you say and then it`s the ray gun for you.  Anna and I were both banned for life last month for making some vaguely amusing remarks about a rabbit called Rodger. Jeeeszus!!

Ho Martle and Morticiaa.  I wonder if this Chris is male or female?  I note, MorticiaaaAAA(octave) that you went to a school for boys.  Congratulations.  It must have been fun.

Y-e-e-s-s... but there are more of us than there are of them  Cool

Because I can't listen to the radio at work, and because I don't know 95% of the pieces on the playlists, I relied on the R3 boards to tell me what I should be listening to on Listen Again in the evenings. Without this alternative board I'd be at sea without a paddle... but to be honest I'd much rather have the old place back Sad

I go to both places back and front. There are tabs on top that let me move back and forth. I am listening a lot on listen again.
There is a mud wrestling match on the other board.
Morticiaa aparantly went to boy's school. I myself went to fool's school.

Tempting though that certainly is, I'm not going back even to see Sydney and Reiner going at it hammer and tongs... Wink

I am deeply depressed by the mood of viciousness and personal attacks on the "other board".  An irregular army of trolls has arrived, most of whom were never seen on the R3MB prior to 19th Feb.  An interesting point is that despite never posting on the Board before, their messages don't go into pre-mod,  but appear immediately.  There is some vicious barracking of Rob Cowan and Sara Pietr-Mohr going on, to which RC is responding as politely as he can under the circumstances.  A very nasty troll named "Pelsenaire" (who may in fact be another Syd Grew persona under a different U-number) is leading these attacks.  There is also a new member called "Londonman" who is obviously a BBC plant, since he managed to join the boards and have his first messages visible within 18 minutes - a new record, I think?

So I am giving up on the other board - I'm sick of it.  If Bloody Monday is ahead, then count me out.  I came here for the music, not some idiotic prep-school twats arguing over the correct pronunciation of ecclesiastical latin.

Congrats, Mr Wright - you've done your job beautifully.  You've driven your membership away.

Wouldn't we all.  I suspect "I don't like Mondays" is going to come into it.

I'm a bit part-time nowadays due to other committments, but  I've been popping back to the R3 boards to see how things are progressing.

This them versus us nonsense is really rather silly and I hope it stops soon.

My feeling is much the same as Richard's. I came to the BBC boards to talk about new music principally. I drifted into waffle and into a few threads on the C'Mor 3 board, but my heart was in the NM board. I rarely listen to any of the programmes that are represented by the new boards, and I feel that jumping up and down creating bad feeling is only going to make things worse. I'm going to make sure that I register my feelings with the powers-that-be, but I fear that the only thing that us New Musicers can do is to make the best of this place, and hope that Robert Worby (or a similar figure) sees his way to posting a link to the NM board here (until the BBC wakes up and restores our board of course).
