Or anything else the "jass centred" posters play.
I'm playing
Miroslav Vitous - Mountain In the Clouds (from vinyl) - October 1969
It seems it was released as Infinite Search in the USA.
MV on acoustic bass, Joe Henderson (ts) Herbie H (el p) Johnny Mac (el guitar) Jack de Johnette (drums)
It's got some distilled early fusion elements, but has great interplay between the instruments. If you like Extrapolation and Filles de Kilamanjaro you'd probably like this. JM playing is more rockish at times than on Extrapolation.

Yes Sweep... The problem the album has is following that opening track (FJD) - Great drumming as on the Davis version, this time by JdeJ.

Tones for Joans Bones is pretty good post bop. I think the twofer lack a couple of tracks from the M Vitous album

((((((( Sun Ra's « Magic city » . Here el Sonny deploys the ingredients of his orchestral palette , Marshall Allen's piccolo, Ronnie Boykins' bowed bass in conjunction with electric keyboard, like the natural heir of Ellington with his treatment of Nanton's plunger mute & Bigard's 'Creole' clarinet. The bass marimba & other tuned percussion, familiar from 'Heliocentric' are revisited here.

it sounds a bit middle aged and acoustic, intelligent but lacking oomph. i'd rather listen to McPherson struttin some bop.
and find yer own mekon!

"a bit middle aged and acoustic"
Was that Universal Syncopations you were referring to Calum?
With Jmac and deJohnette it could have been quite fiery!
I will borrow it from the library, they have a copy.
