this is the story i know

last week i went onto the jazz message bored
and tried to post a message and
i got 'asses to all bbc messageboreds denied##'
with no email and no explanation
and i felt sickened and figured ok
as mr improv always said
the hegemony will silence the voice of the non hegemony
what the hell else did you expect
go elsewhere do something constructive with your energy

i tried to log on as a new identity
and called myself banhim
in a vain attempt to stay on the bored somehow
i tried to post some inane posts
thinking this would get me past the moderators

up untill that point i have only posted as me for several years
using a variety of nicknames as everyone knows

and now this rediculous and spurrious
kafka esque nonsense ensues

i am not king kennytone
or ubu
personally i liked how we used to be able to
servera personlaties it was surreal it was less like life
life is too dull as it is without virtual reality being
hemmed in to the same goddam confines

i emailed the moderators and asked how come this was going down
at the time but i got no replies so i invented someone new
thinkin at least i could eventually get onto the jazz bored
and make my statement as banhim

to hell it with it all it's too stupid

i have been extremely heartened and surprised
at the response from many of my fellow bored members
i'd've thought half of you would've been glad to see the back of me
and i wanna  say thanks for your kindness and concerns
cos it's beeen a hard week tryna get used to being off the bored

thanks to all of you who've said they find me to have integrity
all my goddam words have always been heartfelt and i goddam care
a lot about the music and the things i care about
in this world and i am becoming very saddenned at the way
caring and wishing to fight for change is so vilified these days

but i think the internet is an evil hole and it sucks you in
so maybe i'm best off staying out

i live in bristol
peter has mailed me cds to my adress in bristol

king kennytone lives in london

he is not me

who flipping cares
you can all be who you wanna be
far as i'm concerned

put up ideas and i'll discuss em
who gives a damn where or who the ideas came from
ideas are worth relating to
we are only virtual here

I've been watching all those goings on and I don't like the look of them at all (I've cancelled my membership of the BBC boards and haven't posted there for some time). Looks like the jazz message board over there is finally going the way of the classical ones.

I think the moderators over here would agree with me that everyone's welcome to set up over here instead.

I know that KK and mr i are different people, but even if I didn't I would never have thought for one second that they weren't.

mr improv is indeed welcome here, as will be all jazz boreders.

Sorry that we can't offer you free CDs as did Peter, nor endless changing of names, but I'm sure you'll find a corner here to carry on much as you always have done. Enjoy!

I used to  post on the Jazz Bored, until it got a bit nasty.  Peter the Host Held it all together.  Why is that the only R3 with a board with a host?

Welcome, Mr I. A lot of us here feel a bit like R3 Board refugees, so you'll fit right in.  Smiley

I have a feeling that once the truth of this situation is sorted out you may be reinstated - but once Peter goes, who knows? We may all have to begin posting elsewhere if we actually want to discuss things controversial, critical, and/or not 100% 'relevant' to BBC jazz coverage.

All you jass-heads are welcome here. Our jazz section could do with some invigorating as BobbyZ says.

mr improv - glad to find you on here - albeit with the Nigerian KingKennytone likeness. The US dollar is probably weak there as well, so I won't worry about solicitations.

Indeed you do seem to have been caught-up in a chapter out of The Castle...the way I interpret the official (Peter) explanation was a matter of multiple identities; which seems harmless enough. Who cares?

remember Dr. Dominic Kojo (our very good mutual friend - KK)? Now that was quite an avatar and I miss Kenny's choice to divest himself of the good, Christian, Doctor of Humanity.

I am sure you will remember: Dr. Dominick Joko - you corresponded with the gentleman, citing the lateness of the hour. TEE HEE

I imagine you will find a forum in these boxes for whatever matters.

mr I/yoko

On the BEEB board, I posted a picture of a Bristol musician, could be you, or someone you know... and it is  being modded.... Sad

How can a picture of a sax player be off-topic?

When it was hinted that KK and Mr I was the same person, I thought they meant KK had been posting  under your name recently, not that he and you are the same. I'm sure you exist in reality,  but does it matter if you/we/I don't?

Welcome to Not The BBC Jass Messagebored, mr i.

You are not King Kennytone.

I don't think the BBC bored will be worth bothering with once Peter the Host leaves.

I got awfully confused as to whether Mr.  Improv was he or some Roooster?

But what do I know?   NS Ornette, Rambling  I hope he is Mr. I

brothers and sister of the free spirit
thanks for your continuing support
i am sorry i've been somwot reticent
even now, but to be honest
i'm rather demoralised and dispirited
by the whole event. and it's made me think
why am i wasting my time and energy on the internet
tryna change things tryna get a message across
maintain summat in the decaying world as i see it

and i'm thinking of just getting off the goddam net
maybe go and join some movement
though god knows waht it could be

aye well
thanks again
i'm totally shocked
i can imagine some of you guys
saying thank f that mother's gone

as for the modded picture
well if it is me i'd rather my identity
wasnt revealed on the net to be honest

can i just say in closing
ONCE MORE
a long time ago
lots of us had several id tags
on the godddam bored
it wasnt so that you could talk to yourself
it was so that you could weave some kind of tapestry
and be surreal

at one time i was
peter brotzman
and i used to post one message all the time
it said
grrrr grr grrrr

the bored and the net is virtual unreality
we are all not here

christalmighty
as our friend above says
real life will make you quiver with disgust and fear

for a while we had some fun
and some rellief on the bbc bored
but they been tightening thier grip for a while
and soon it's gonna be over all the way
cos peter is going
and peter man even though
we've had some run ins
in the past but you've been a lot more
goddam flexible and understanding of the art
than most of the shite boreds at the bbc

i wanted the bored to be an art form
a riff
a peice of dadaist theatre
not just some goddam same old
reasonable hegemony
;piece of social orchestration
'how are you today'
'i'm fine and how are you'
i 'm ok
i'm ok too thanks
how's the wife
ok how's the kids

to hell with it

may the oligarchy die
and may it die soon
#

NO WAY IS THAT GONNA HAPPPEN
to hell with it all then

It didn't have a name with the picture and it was a snapshot ....only recognisable to close friends!
