Alas, AFAIK no photographic evidence from 2nite- still, it was a great pleasure to finally meet Don Basilio, Don martillio, Don tinnerio, and Don autoharp with autoharpess --as well as the conference participants Don hemidemitonos, Don Rocco Rodio Hawkins, Don Pace, Donna N5, harmoniaharmonia, ahh, attac de M&S, Don Birocco, and La Animal ferocchissima de M&S; also very sorry to miss la Donna Morticia and Padre Timoteo R-J, but as I've always said to myself and will say again and again, one can't have everything, especially not all at once.

...and as Steve Wright said, where would you put it, anyway?

It was very nice indeed to meet some new, mostly M&S bods. And especially nice not to have planted a wet, sloppy kiss on the transatlantic chops of the extremely affable, charming and VERY TALL Turf! HH had buglered off for food by the time I arrived, never to return, alas.

A most enjoyable evening and indeed preceding day - included a long keynote paper from Don hemidemitono after which we all have to watch our backs if using the term 'material' again, and a one delivered at top speed by myself on Storia del fotografia nel suono. Don ahh did take some photographs - hopefully he'll be on here at some point today and will post them? Sorry to miss Donna Morticia, Donna strinasaachi and others, but hopefully there will be another opportunity soon.

The Schubert lieder emerging from the dulcet baritone voice of Don Turfano on the bus back, as well as his ability to straddle our seats and the railing around the stairs with his extremely long legs, provided for memorable experiences.....  Grin

Be it understood that Don Pace was quite intoxicated and may remember more legs than there actually were. But TF did indeed sing Schubert Winterreise selections on the bus, being himself quite taken with tppl

Fourth(?)ed! Wasn't I a conference participant, though? I seem to remember having been there, but maybe it was a hallucination brought on by the evening's alcoholic consumption.

I also seem to remember Donna N5 having been in possession of a photographic reproducing machine, and would welcome a public or private view of any of the resulting reproducibles.

It was a particular joy to meet Members TF, hh, qt and (briefly) Animal for the first time, as well as to renew acquaintance with Members Biroc and attac and the more usual suspects of martle, Basilio, Pace, Lindsay, autohx2, Hawkins, and ahhhhhh (who had the temerity to wear the same shoes as me, albeit in a slightly modified edition w/ shoelaces but w/o socks).

Donna N5 was indeed donning the camera, but it remained the property of one Don ahhhhh-Bisto (who was later giving stern words on the wrongs of realist TV drama, which rules out just about everything from the UK save for Dennis Potter and some sci-fi and horror - this was at the same time as Don Frammento was giving an impromptu performance of parts of Winterreise to the bemusement of some well-behaved hoodies further along the bus) - so where are they, gravy man? We're waiting.....
