I'll be at the RAH tomorrow (Fri 15th) for Janacek/Boulez, so if there is a meet-up, will need details by early tomorrow morning.

Hope to see some of you there!

I'm hoping to get to the Pre-prom talk at the RCM at 5:45, opilec. I wonder if others might be heading to that too?

I'll try to get along to that too, IGI, though I hope it's really at 17:45 ...  Wink

I'm planning to be at the talk.  Unfortunately I can't stay after the concert; and this is one of the Proms for which I've booked seats so I'll have to go and meet my companions soon after the talk.  But if there's an arranged meeting place for before the talk I'll do my best to be there.

I am aiming to make it to the talk, and have done deals to get the 15:35 coach from Windsor (though it will probably not actually leave before 15:40 due to having to pick up at Legoland first. It's due at the RAH at about 16:45, so I might even get a reasonable place in the queue. Planning to drive up for tonight's Late Prom, but will be heading straight back ofter that, to edit and burn the recording of the current BBC4 broadcast to DVD-R before turning in. Then in the morning, before work, I will edit and burn the John Cale programme (23:30 tonight). That will allow me to make room on the hard drive for tomorrow night's Prom on BBC4.

When am I going to fit in some sleep? Ah, yes, on the coach, tomorrow afternoon and on the way back after tomorrow night's Prom. Wink

Unless I am drafted into the ranks of the KGB to serve in upcoming operations (which is most likely - if you believe what's written on TOP) I shall be along to the Janacek tomorrow - aiming to hit the queue-end around 4pm.

Beware Bryn, there are a couple of drop outs in the BBC4 broadcast ( we are sorry for this interruption and will try to repair the fault as soon as possible ) in the Haydn and the Wagner encore. You might want to see if the late night repeat will come complete if you have time in your hectic schedule.

Thanks, BobbyZ.   I did wonder whether the technical fault was oop north!   I've opted for a rerecord, trusting that the drop-outs have been rectified.    I also gather that the documentary on the Third Programme, abandoned at 21.30, will be repeated as advertised, 01.30 hrs.  This will leave adequate room for the extended Prom on my DVD recorder.

Seeing as nobody else has set out a firm plan for post-concert drinks tomorrow and Saturday, I hope you'll pardon the liberty if I do so.

Post-concert, both evenings - meet outside Imperial College bar. From the Hall, walk down the south steps, turn right, and go through the archway on your right into the quad. Head for the picnic tables. Due to IC's aforementioned membership requirement, those among us with membership cards will make sure that there's at least one person there from the start rather than doing the collection. In case of inclement weather, meet inside the bar.

I hope this arrangement suits people and most of us will probably have seen each other already by then anyway! Smiley

Thanks indeed, BobbyZ. It over-ran pretty disastrously anyway, with the recording cutting out before the end of the Brahms (and I had allowed a few minutes extra.  I will copy the Schoenberg to DVDRAM, (along with the John Cale programme), clear the decks and set to record the repeat. It means staying up until the start, in order to cancel the dreaded 'press the red button' DOG, and an early rise to edit and burn to a couple of DVD-Rs, but it might just work out.

Looks like the repeat was rather cleaner. Currently burning Part 1, (minus the opening chat) to DVD-R at "XP" rate and LPCM to keep what audio quality there is. Back to bed for 50 minutes, then to sort out the Brahms and Wagner.

I'll have to nip off post-concert tonight, I'm afraid, but hope to be able to wave a friendly paw to several R3OKers at some point during the (non-music part of the) evening. Weather permitting I'll probably be doing by usual meandering circumnavigations of the Hall in the interval. As there is no R in the month it will be widdershins.

So a clockwise perambulation by other members should ensure a meeting at some point?!

I hope to see some of you later. I too shall have to dash off for the train afterwards, but will be evident seated on the extreme right side of the Stalls, robed in red!
