The first forehead on the left only have a forehead and no face. Are you the one with the face of without? I see no reflection from any flash.

Why, are cellists professionally obliged to avoid tanning lounges?
There must be a witty and mildly suggestive punch line to that.......if only I could think of one.

"Because it might spoil the clarity of the Boccherini line below the stave."
Nope. Not there yet.

Would you like some string terms, George? For example purfling, peg box, pegs, scroll, frog, tailpiece, ribs, belly, back, f-holes, tension screw, inlay, fingerboard, thumb position, nut, fine-tuners, bridge, soundpost, frog, tip, varnish, lacquer, spike? I'm sure you can do something with those. Problem is, a lot of them are actually supposed to be brown.

Absolutely dripping with comedic potential! All the greater shame for not being able to do anything with them. Apparently St Albans was a Tanning Centre as early as the 15th century which was a bit of a surprise. It's difficult to imagine that getting the right Bronztone Body Factor for a Friday night out was that high up on the average farm labourers' list of anxieties, but there you go.

TimR-J, Are you before authoharp on the picture? There are so many handsome people that I am overwhelmed. Do we know who the people here are: I only know the lady. But who are two men that are facing us?

Because no one likes a big whack on the bottom line. Tommo

Ah, well - there's no arguing with the consequences of beer-imbibing, is there? Just thought that I'd make mention that from my utterly snobbish, upper-class, aristocratic position from on high I cannot abide even being in the same room as a glass of any kind of beer. And, that said, all the rubbish that I've just written is utter nonsense except for the bit about beer, the very thought of which I simply cannot abide (though I am actually perfectly capable of tolerating its presence, despite what that idiot suggested earlier on in this message just because he happens to be as allergic to it as the said Sorabji - who, incidentally, published an essay on Beer and British Music - once claimed to be allergic to Tagore). Just for the record, incidentally, my allergy to beer was not in any sense influenced by Sorabji's take on the stuff - it merely happened to coincide with it... Well, here's an alternative for you, Alistair (just to demonstrate total and utter belligerence, I thought I'd give an Irish one): And there I was, thinking that belligerence was simply not part of your make-up at all! Anyway, in the best tradition of Stravinsky's famous "if Richard, then Wagner: if Strauss, then Johann" (to which my long-standing retort has been and remains "if Igor, then Prince"), I say of your illustration "if Bush, then Alan: if Mills, then Black Dyke: if malt, then whisky without the tell-tale interpolated 'e'". No, I really cannot stomach that Irish stuff at any price (and will the moderator/s please note, if necessary, that this is not, nor is it intended to be interpreted as, a racist slur, any more than is my "Black Dyke" reference to be misunderstood as anything other than what I obviously meant by it...) In another thread, Ian, you made some remarks about the sometimes great contrast between the music and the persona of the composer; it's no wonder that you are especially congnisant of this phenomenon, since you are Pace and yet you claim to be belligerent! Best, Alistair

It is ok, A. I can wait until I come to a meeting. If this will happen it will have to be a chancy event.
