My word, this is like one of those old waffle parties but with real booze.

Cheers. I happen to have a gin and tonic ready for action as I write this, having just about had enough of copying notes for today.

Richard, cheers! Sure you deserve this (with my fave brand, and LIME - lemon is so, oh, 60s. Or something.)

Yes I am, thanks, A, you certainly seem to be. Looks like you decided to let the estimable B slumber on.

As it happens, Martle, that's exactly the brand of gin I have.

Now tell me Mort, a woman of the world, should I wake him or let the little dear snore on ?  Grin Grin

A

A,

As a woman of the world I`d take Martle`s advice!  `im being a turtle of the world. Except when he isn`t. He was a penguin once. Then again, I might go for the snoring option and  make good use of a brace of champagne corks. In yer ears, innit Grin

Ah - a gin and tonic - or a Queen Mother special, as they are sometimes called. Which gin do you prefer? I find quite a lot of them rather disappointing, actually. Hendricks seemed great when first I tried it, but either I went off it or vice versa quite quickly. Tanqueray Ten's quite a good one. Personally, I tend to stick with Plymouth, as a rule. And the tonic is, of course, "Indian"; perhaps this might be a subject for further consideration in the "Orientalism and music" thread?

I daresay that someone will start asking what a Scotsman like me is doing drinking English gin and "Indian" tonic (with a slice of Italian lemon or Brazilian lime), but we don't really want to get into that sort of thing here, do we?...

Best,

Alistair

These are my ear plugs of choice. Can you get them over there?

I'm for Bombay with tonic and Tanqueray in a Martini, personally.

Sorry - my last post was a tad out of date, being the result of not checking interveneing ones before posting. Of course, that particular gin should really be labelled Mumbai now, should it not? I used quite to like it before its packaging changed and alcohol content increased (and beware the airport version, whose %vol. is, I think, somewhere around 47.5%).

Yes, lime is best, really - I do agree with "martle" there. And it's greener than lemon, of course...

Anyway, all this talk of gin and tonic makes me think that I'd better go serve myself one without further ado...

Best,

Alistair

Where would you shove 'em ollie? surely they are too big for my delicate ears  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I could think of other places to be honest, and they may be just as effective !!!

By the way how did the bathroom piece go on thursday? I have to say that I heard a sort of rumbling at one point in the evening  Grin

Still, if the lime is from Brazil and the lemon is from Italy we'd want to be watching our carbon footprint, wouldn't we?

By bathroom piece you mean me and three others attacking a tam-tam with items such as soap dishes? Went very well (although the concert was in fact Friday). One of the original cast was even in the audience although I didn't get to speak to him...
