I will own up to being the one in the white 'composer' jacket if that helps.

t-p, A and her 'fella' are delightful, as were they all. Hope you can come to one of these meetings. Are you ever in mainland UK?  Smiley

George, you've got a way to go before the ultimate composer jacket:

I say of your illustration "if Bush, then Alan

Well, it could certainly be a lot worse than that Wink
Indeed so - in, for example, a case where the "G" that might take the place of "Alan" doesn't stand for "Geoffrey", for example (anent which, if "Walter", then "Bruno"); now, how does that relatively recent cliché run? - "a bird in the hand is worth two in the (Iraq my brains to think how that sentence ends)...".

Which reminds me of the following conversation between two Americans:
Amercian A: Well, what are your political allegiances?
American B: I'm an Independent Republocrat.
American A: Ah! So you gotta be a lawyer, a professional politican or both!

Whoops! That's a potential nine points on my forum membership licence. Apologies to all to whom they are due...

Best,

Alistair

I have to admit that, until learning all that I have from this thread, I'd thought that "the men in white coats" were either corporate accountants or people who carried you off to the funny farm - and I find it a little difficult to imagine any composer successfully doubling in either rôle...

Best,

My word, this is like one of those old waffle parties but with real booze.

Cheers. I happen to have a gin and tonic ready for action as I write this, having just about had enough of copying notes for today.
