I've just been in touch with Resonance - they've just changed the listings to incorporate MIXINGIT - and Weds 11pm is to be our regular 60 minute slot until further notice. So from tomorrow night it'll be on every Weds.

Ooh ... taking on Late Junction, eh? ;-)

Seriously though, wouldn't the Sunday night vacuum, created by shunting Andy Kershaw to a Monday, be the ideal slot?

We're working on a podcast. We'll keep developments posted here. But the legal/rights requirements are a bit of a nightmare - what does everyone feel about a possible £1 subscription fee per 90 minute programme?

Not only am I naturally averse to paying for internets, I am also a) hard up and b) have many children. However, I might consider parting with a *nominal* fee (ten bob?) for a high quality podcast. Would FLAC or another lossless format (SHN? APE?) be viable?

If not, I don't know if people would be willing to shell out for lossy MP3, even at 320kbps 8-}

I wonder if a few of the record labels with material that would feature in such podcasts might be amenable to chanelling a bit of their promotions budgets toward supporting the podcast? Perhaps a brief namecheck for such "supporting subscribers" might be included by way of acknowledgement ... ?

Todger(!)

You can Listen Again to Later Junction. Yes Sundays would be great - just like the good old days before the move to Fridays. But hey, let's not look a gift horse in the mouth! I'm so embarrassingly grateful that I've just subbed the station for a few quid...

Rob the station is available online, and the homepage talks about podcasts too.

Merci bien, Gabrielle.  Wink

Yes, I would also be happy with the £1 a podcast suggestion.

I look forward to tuning into the 'Resonance FM' 128K MP3 stream this evening. Thanks for the playlist details.

Update - Wed 7:30PM: There was a MI on Resonance FM posting on the "Music Matters" board this afternoon ... one minute it was there ... the next minute it was gone ... I guess someone at the Beeb applied the Delete button.  Sad

I'm looking forward to Mixing It at 11pm tonight. But...

The resonancefm website says 8-10 is all about the Polish contribution to 'the well-being of Britain.' Well its 9.10 and there's a perfectly decent cove playing Afro-French music, and speaking entirely in...

French.

Crossed fingers!

Was anyone alse unable to get the 128 mp3 stream up and running for Mixing It tonight. I had to resort to the OGG Vorbis version in the end. Missed the first approx 20 minutes though.

Better luck next week, maybe. Good programme, from what I heard. Bed now. I will try playing it back in the morning.

Dear Mixing It

Only caught the last 20 mins of the show, since I was at Basquiat Strings/Seb Rochford (which was quite lovely actually)

I've just heard Toop getting all zen on us. Good to hear your voices again.

£1 per podcast sounds fine.

I too was unable to get the 128K stream - though it had been fine when I tested yesterday. Had to record the 64K stream. (Annoyingly, when I tried again after the show finished, the 128K stream was working again!)

Anyway, I've recorded it, to play in the car from tomorrow. I heard the beginning and it sounded v.good - great to hear Mark 'n Rob in full flight again!

I too think £1 per podcast sounds good - espec if we can get it at a decent bitrate (and it's got to be easier than recording the live stream).

Mixing It is dead, long live MIXINGIT!

Still worthwhile challenging Roger Wright on Feedback over his treatment of the programme, though - it is a programme that the BBC should be doing.
