I was listening on Real Player and it fell over for 20 minutes or so soon after 11 - did anyone else have problems? Still great to have MI back!!

alves hi - yes, Realplayer died on me. I clicked on mp3 and it worked thereafter. Even tho I listened through crappy monitor speakers (mut get an internet radio!), I thought it was a fine programme. Particularly liked Fulborn Teversham: Count Herbert II. Might just make it onto my wish-list.
Almost brought a lump to the throat to hear the lads again - I really thought that was it on Feb 9th. Just a few short weeks ago - hope from despair.
I look forward to the next programme. Mark's earlier post here indicated that it would be every Wednesday from now on, but they sounded a bit vague about it last night.
Wonder if Roger was listening?

Thanks Gabrielle - thought it was just me! Need to get a more reliable broadcast mechanism, I struggled to get the MP3 stream to work too. Yes it was great to hear MI again, I'm not sure either as to whether it will broadcast on every Wednesday. Perhaps when they recorded the 1st show they weren't sure? Could Mark clarify? Now MI is on Resonance I've no doubt Roger will be signed up as a friend. We all know how he misses the show....................

Thanks for listening everyone.
I listened on the Internet (don't live in London). Couldn't make mp3 stream work (although it's working this morning) and my Real Player fell over after 20 mins. Makes need for hi-quality podcast even greater i think.
The show was recorded (last Thursday) before schedule confirmed. That's why we sounded a bit uncertain. Weds 11pm will be regular slot although Robert's in the States at the moment so don't know if he'll be back in time to record a new one for next week.
No listen again facility i'm afraid Ruby. That's why we're working on Podcast. We're meeting various people next week so will keep you posted about website for podcast/backdated playlists/news etc.

Great news about the regular slot on Resonance. I got the news too late too hear the first one, but will try and make it a date, listening via broadband. I would be very happy with a podcast version and very happy to pay a quid. Meanwhile I discovered by accident that I could use the BBC Listen Again facility to tune into the last Mixing It on Radio 3 ever, despite no link appearing on the web page. Here is the url if anyone would like to hear it. (I also have the url for the last Late Junction on a Monday if anyone's intersted?) It seems shows lurk about in the depths of BBC servers much longer than they let on - probably good to be a bit discrete about this?! Here's the Mixing It one:- http://tinyurl.com/2u8wmaFelicity

Mark, could you perhaps ask Ed if figures are available for hits to the various Internet streams for last night's programme? It would be interesting to see how far the news of the new home has travelled. Lt's hope they can sort out the 128k mp3 stream for next week, though the OGG Vorbis wasn't too bad at all, hovering around 60 to 70 kbps.

Yes, well done Mark and Robert, a perfectly formed 'emission' on the new shifted frequency ... now that's what I call music!! I also couldn't access the 128k mp3 stream - however, it did become available just after MI ended. John S

Hi all and well done to Mark and Robert.
I did notify Resonancefm about the loss of the 128K stream and someone replied (at midnight!) that they'll get someone to look at it. The resonance fm station is short of funds - so donations via their website are well needed.
I hope that I am not stepping on toes - Mark and Robert please let me know if I am - but I managed to "tape" the show and though through the 60-70Kbp stream, it matches fm quality. I would be willing to post the file on a website for other to download. It will be in 64k mp3, but will give people a chance to hear the first show. But if the podcast idea takes off - I would be very happy to pay for a quality podcast.
Finally, perhaps all the mixing it fans on this radio 3 board should move to the boards at Resonance fm? There is also a lastfm group called mixing it with a corresponding lastfm station. I look forward to the website when we can all gather under one roof for a bit.
Anyhow, well done on a great show - I will be sharing the show with friends to keep the interest going. Last nights show was a brilliant advertisement for a great show. Long Live MIXING IT.

ps - Would MIXING IT merchandise be a step to far?

Mixing It merchandise eh? There must be mileage in that, it would probably have to involve frogs or some such.......
If Mr Sandall is not available for the next show will you do a solo outing Mark?

I am the proud possessor of a Mixing It CD - 1994 Chill Out Label. Includes Aphex Twin, PCO, Lounge Lizards (thanks to MI, saw them live!), Conlon Nancarrow, Holger Czukay. The guys can do another one any time they like!

The first item of MI merchandise will be a small robotic Pangolin called Roger who scampers away into hiding on hearing new and unusual sounds! The small chap can be lured out of hiding by switching on Classic FM.
