How petty!

frenchie, there are four pages of messages before yours. Which one was it in reply to? Who or what does the "How petty" refer to? Wright dumped "Mixing it" unceremoniously. That it has been taken up by Resonance is marvellous. If Wright and co. had an ounce of decency in them they would offer Resonance built trails for "Mixing It"'s new home and schedule time. ;-)

Oops, excuse a newbie, Bryn  Cheesy  Mark R and I have been in contact over this - I meant the BBC was petty to object to the use of the Mixing It title.

Well, what can you say. The Beeb unceremoniously dump MI and then have the audacity to lay claim to the programme title as "an established brand". An established brand!!!! I just cannot believe all this. Anyway ef 'em. I'm sure that Mark and Robert are unlikely to get an invite back however much the clamouring the poor dejected listeners pile on.

I can't think of a replacement title that is snappy, catchy and pertinent at the moment, I'm too angry to think of   anything......gggggrgrrrrrggggrgrgggrgrggrrrrrrrrrrrr......... is that too long?

Cutting it?

Oh no, that's what the beeb did, so they probably have rights over that as well. Sad  I was only thinking of another part of the editting process.

Some of you might notice that Resonance are billing the next show as 'MyXINGIT'. This is because we've received a letter from the BBC Legal Department asking us not to use the name 'Mixing It'. It contains the following section:

'Whilst we of course have no objection to Mark Russell and Robert Sandall presenting a radio programme which covers new and experimental music, the BBC has issues regarding the unauthorised use of the programme title Mixing It. The BBC has been using the programme name for 16 years and in that time it has become a very established brand for our organisation'

So established they decided to drop it, apparently.

Name suggestions on a postcard please! I'll keep you posted,

Mark R

WHAT THE F%*$!

The fact that the BBC Legal Department has sunk to the level of 'we have issues' makes the heart plummet yet further  Roll Eyes

How about using...

its available and if you own the domain name i can't see how they can stop you from using it...

If you dont decide to stick it to the man and keep 'mixing it' then pehaps 'myxingit' isn't half bad or 'Mark Russell and Robert Sandalls' something or other. If you could get away with MixingIt.org then I agree that a website name could be a good move in terms of raising money for the show   Wink
