Good to see Mark and Robert's 'new' venture get a mention in the Independent's "Critic's Choice" column today. (Radio listings page)  Top billing in fact!  Smiley

It's not allowed a mention on the official BBC board though ( "affectionately" known as TOP ) Gabby / Chivi's attempt to bring it to the attention of anyone who might be interested there has been modded out of existence ( World Music board ) The latest of many mean spirited moderator acts over there.

I have had a go at starting a new thread, on the return of 'Mixing It', on the Platform 3 board. Let's see what happens.

Well I have replied to you Bryn but the other thread got totally trashed by Mods (or someone controlling the Mods) because the MB is reactively moderated, Mods have no opinions, it's only when someone pushes the C Button.

Hullo, Wodger?

Listening too now, and so many happy memories of the programme, but someone decided it was not for R3 listeners.

How little they knew.

What on earth is/was Auntie's problem with it? Very good, fresh selections.

Too fresh and too young for R3, that's what.  Given the demise of Jazz FM in London, I think Wodger wanted to fill that void.  That's much more the desired market.  I mean, there's Radio 1, 1xtra and 6 Music for all those young people. What more doe they want?  Roll Eyes

I'm really glad I caved in and updated my Real Player installation. It is so damned easy to record WTSIT with it. You just got to Resonance FM at the right time, click on the mp3 option, and when the Real Player window comes up and you hear Resonance, just click on the record button and the mp3 is saved to your Real Player library. When finished, just stop the recording with the stop button, start up mp3DirectCut, open the file saved in the Real Player library, and edit it to your desire. Looks like Total Recorder can take a back seat now.

Mark hi - and Rob too, natch

Thanks very much for the prog - so glad to have you back. I'm sure you guys do it for love not money, just want you to know that it means a lot to the likes of me. Been listening since 1995, and my shelves are modestly groaning under the weight of stuff I heard on MI - remember Spangles, Dragibus, Fontella Bass in various guises, Stina, Lounge Lizards - and right up to Panda Bear. So much good stuff. Hey, I even have the Mixing It CD, and a taped live version of Cage Dead you broadcast.

Yes, I do have a life, and you guys have been a rewarding part of it.

Keep kissing those frogs...

Or you could just downloaded from Mark Russell's personal webspace! Wink

Sure, but the Real Player method is generally applicable. Not every programme available in the form of an mp3 stream is also available for download from a presenter's personal web space.

Great to have both back on air. This listener missed your selections tremendously.

I've grabbed the mp3 from Mark's iDisk but where's the playlist? The Resonance site doesn't seem to work for me. Huh
