1 Battles: Atlas (4.05) From ‘Mirrored’ on Warp Records
2 Bow Mods : I will Dry Your Eyes (2.40)
3 Opsvik & Jennings: Commuter Anthemm (3.18)
4 Donnacha Dennehy : Streetwalker (11.07)
5 Walter & Sabrina : Rock’n’Roll Darkness (Excerpt) (6 mins ish)
6 Pharoahe Monch: Trilogy (9.22)
7 Skeletons & The Kings Of All Cities: Fake Tits / Hay W’Happns (3.33 + 5.13)
8 Patti Smith: Smells Like Teen Spirit (6.30)

WHERE’S THE SKILL IN THAT - PLAYLIST - ResonanceFM Weds 30th May 2007

1 Found: Itchy Feet / Fnd043 (0.32 + 3.58)
2 North Sea Radio Orchestra : The End Of Chimes (4.49)
3 Chris Burn: Pressings & Screenings Part 4 (5.16)
4 Pepe Deluxe : Ms Wilhelmina & Her Hat (6.22)

Well, I finally got round to lisening to the last two 'WtSiT' shows, although I only got as far as track 4 on the 30th, and thoroughly enjoyed both of them.
The Bow Mods tack was particularly to my taste, as were Pharoaha Monche and Pepe Deluxe.
I couldn't help thinking, though, that the Walter & Sabrina track might have been better without the vocals...

Mark Russell said it would be September on his return from the US. Hopefully that still stands.

Yes I'm missing it too - I do hope that Robert and Mark will still be happy to put the show together when Mark is back in September, I need some radio stimulation!

I was missing it, but I've just dowloaded the last few progs (up to 27th May, anyway) and looking forward to unzipping and listening. I'm also on Last.fm and enjoy going to pages of new obscure artists (to me) - from WSIT playlists - and following recommendations and tags to open ever further unexplored country. You then get a "radio station" based on similar artists. It is proving expensive in terms of CDs sent off for. My latest discoveries - the Legendary Pink Dots, plus a load of new weird America folky stuff.

Gee - The Legendary Pink Dots, not heard from them for a long time - since Mixing It played one of their tracks in fact. Hadn't seen Last.fm before (www.ludite) but its pretty good, lots to explore.......

Hey Roma - what's your last fm name? I'm on there too and love it. Esp listening to other user's radio. I've found some really good material this way.

hi Adam - I've just sent you a friend request on last.fm. I'm on the Mixing it group there too (I think I probably raise the average demographic to an unacceptable level!) The combination of last.fm and Mixing It has resulted in opening my musical horizons several hundred fold in the last couple of years. All good stuff!

Does anyone know if Where's The Skill In That will return to Resonance FM?
I think Mark originally said that it would return when he came back from the USA in September, but I haven't seen any news about it.

I did try emailing him a couple of weeks ago to ask if he and Robert were going to re-start WTSIT on his return, but haven't had anything back yet.

I miss it - I've been playing recordings of old Mixing It shows to keep me going!

Dave.

Yes I was wondering the same - perhaps it will be towards the end of Sept, beginning Oct. I miss it too and like you have had to revert to re-runs.

Mark and Robert - speak and let us know!!

resonancefm is off the air at the moment. It's website says:

...begins preparations to move both the studio and administrative offices to a new location. Live programmes are temporarily suspended so what we're going to do is submerge you in the ectoplasmic matter that is the Resonance FM archive. We are 5 years of age this year so it seems appropriate to measure just how much we've mutated. In August we will be realising some special programming to tide us over the move into our new premises: details to be announced shortly! Our normal schedule will resume with a special relaunch in September.

I've just stumbled across the following web page which may be of interest -

http://www.radiolistings.co.uk/programmes/mixing_it.html

- it's a database of "Mixing It" program listings. Not complete, but an interesting record of the program.

John S

ps. There's also listing data for the R3 "Between the Ears" series -
