By the way, "Where's the Skill in That" fans may like to catch the following program on Radio 4.

Here's the info from the BBC 'What's On' page -

BBC Radio 4 FM

Kraftwerk: We Are the Robots

Thu 22 Nov, 11:30 - 12:00  30 mins

Marc Riley traces the career of Kraftwerk, whose 1970s electronic music owed more to the experimental German classical compositions of Karlheinz Stockhausen than to any pop tradition. They were part of a new generation of young West Germans, living in the shadow of the Cold War, who identified with the need to recapture a German cultural identity distinct from that of Britain and America.

'Mixing It' is back on the BBC airwaves ... but not as we know it ...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/sites/mixingit/

... nice to see re-cycling in action at BBC Radio Wales.

Where's the sense in that! Huh

Thanks Jstruthio for pointing that out.

One year on and I'm still so furious about what the idiots at the BBC did that I just sent a complaint to that welsh programme to say they have a real cheek to steal the name of Mixing It. Not that it will make any difference, of course.

If it's any help to anyone out there I've got a few old cassettes that I recorded from various Mixing It programmes. If they still play ok, I'll re-record / convert them to mp3s and put them online. Someone mentions this idea re Mixing It on another site, the name of which I need to remember!

Here's hoping we hear from Mark and Robert again soon.

Best wishes to all

Hello,

a very kind listener sent me mp3s of all Mixing Its between June 06 and Feb 07. 31 programmes in all. I've put them on my iDisk for download. Same link as before:

You may have to type in the password twice.

Robert and I are both well and busy. I certainly miss doing Mixing It. We're chatting to Resonance FM now about doing some more 'WTSiTs'. We'll let you know when it's going to happen. We definitely want to start up a regular show again.

Happy New Year,

Excellent!

I haven't visited this board for some time. Today I thought I would have a quick look to see if there was any news re Mixing It/WTSIT (it's nearly the anniversary of the last MI on Radio 3) and there was the message from Mark!
The Mixing It MP3s will be very welcome, thanks. I used to tape MI each week to listen in the car, but tended to cycle through the same 5 or 6 tapes on the assumption that there would continue to be a fresh supply of MI shows to listen to.

Mark, I hope you and Robert do re-start WTSIT on Resonance FM, it will be great to hear the show again.

Dave.

Yes Mark, great news regarding the planned return of WTSiT on Resonance FM.

Time to get the old furniture out of storage and dust down the pangolin .... Smiley

Yes, 'tis true. WTSiT returns on Resonance this Weds (16th April) from 9-10pm. I'll post playlists up here as well as Resonance website. And shows will be available to download from the usual place (my idisk - just check back on this thread for address and password).

We're not planning to stop this time. We'll keep going as long as Resonance will have us. We've recorded the first 4 shows and we're both really happy to be doing it again.

Best wishes,

Yes, quite few of us old Mixin Gits will be very happy with the return of Mark and Robert and WTSiT.  Smiley

Thanks also for your comments Mark. Making the programmes available as a download is great for those who've had problems with the interweb audio streaming delivery in the past!

One small pre-broadcast suggestion ... I see Resonance FM has included the playlist content in their programme schedule details ...   this somewhat detracts from the 'sonic surprise' for the listener.  Perhaps the playlists could be published soon after the broadcast ...  Smiley

I was intending to post the playlist up after the shows. Woops. Won't happen again.
