Don Giovanni sponsored by Viagra.

By the way, is someone going to correct the spelling of "sponsered" [sic] links at the top?

Apparently it is deeply rooted in the Forum Software at some root-level depth - by the people who have set up those links so that this site remains free to use - and can't be tweaked.  If I were an advertiser, I would complain about the negative image it creates:(

There is a very real bit of product placement in Britten's Albert Herring:

Parpignol's Toys get a plug in LA BOHEME, but apparently the French-Horn manufacturer is considering legal action.

It's not an opera, but...

Classic FM used to (and may still) have a regular programme called Smooth Classics.

An ideal opportunity for sponsorship by Nair.

Gillette and manufacturers of gels can also sponsor Bluebeard's Castle.

I think Bartok ballet Wooden Prince could be sponsored by some construction company.
