Oh Poo!

I have a horrible feeling that I will be out of the country on 10 August, and will miss Prom 33.

Ploppy Doo Doos.

Some renegotiation of holiday plans may be in order, but in case I cannot, please could members let me know if they will be there for me?

I thought I was being selective!! So why does my prospective total contain a 0 and begin with a 3 ?!  ShockedUndecided
I've never 'seen the light' as far as RVW is concerned, plenty of opportunities to solve that. Very glad to see Ferguson getting a (small) appearance in #28 too.

Just spotted the Bloomin' Lang Lang!!! Angry Angry
Visually he's a complete show-off, to a level which I just don't see the point in. When he did Chopin 1 in 2006 there were any number of video cameras whizzing away. One for the maybe's for me, if I do go I won't be queueing for very long.

Some very good things on this years Proms. Its a pity, that they havnt really took off on VW's year. I think a missed oppurtunity here, for example, no Sancta Civitas or Dona Nobis Pacem. Its good that other VW composoitions are being played, eg Flos Campi.

Its a shame tjat a wind band is not performing, because that would be ideal for VWs English Folksong suite to be played, etc. maybe c/w Holst Hammersmith Prelude etc, or Suites for military band and some contemprorary music to, which abounds with some very good pieces indeed.

Doing my shopping chores at Tesco, this morning, I saw that the Proms 2008 brochure was on sale for £4, instead of £6 rrp.     And points, too, of course!   Grin

Ooh, now there's an idea! I wonder if they have it in the Catford branch ...

Thanks, Stanley! Grin

Does the printed brochure contain details of TV and radio transmission times for those of us who can't reach London?

If so, I think it's worth picking up if it's only £5. Otherwise, I'll make do with the BBC web site...

Hi, yes it does. All concerts are broadcast live on Radio 3 and some on BBC 4 TV (mainly the Sunday & Monday concerts).  BBC1 / BBC2 are also broadcasting /relaying a few Saturday concerts too.
