A,

I did say sorry before, your message was just caught up in the argument then. As you see above it's a free-for-all again  Smiley

And as you see on this and other thread, there are arguments for and against all methods of voting. I think because there are so many candidates now that a single vote might spread things very thinly and some may see that as a problem and favouring one candidate who may have a core support.

I'm just going with the flow of things now  Undecided

Have to say I didn't notice the 'sorry' but ... who cares really?!

Well, I have to agree with A.  If there are to be 3 mods, once everyone has thrown their hat into the ring, why not 3 votes per member per nominee, fait accompli, all done and dusted, top three are Top Cats.

Whereas, this week, choice between A. B. C. D.  Member C coasts home, Members A. B. D. got their noses out of joint, decide not to stand in Second Mod Poll, their Supporters in a petulant frenzy vote with their feet and leave the MB, leaving Member C to plough a lonely furrow with no further nominations forthcoming.

Just checking if I can modify this, if I so wished

How about a closed ballot?

I can open a fresh account named 'R3OK polls' and you can PM your vote to it.  That way you cannot see the way that votes are going, and all things are fair and above board.  This would of course mean me knowing who voted for whom.

That's fine, Michael, but you've not told people yet when the poll will close!

I've PM'd Michael about this, but unless I've missed it through being even more zonked after teaching than I feel, I'm not sure we have a final decision on the voting. Sorry to bring this up yet again.

But, after 7pm this evening, we may vote once (for one candidate) for the position of first moderator? Is that right? And if so, what then? Or, is it all in one (i.e. three votes - or four? - for all three (or four?) moderators of our choice from the current list?

 Huh Smiley

I'd also PM'd Michael, but no response, martle. I believe we're voting for one moderator at present from the list of six candidates.

Not just you - at least four of us asked for just that.  But it is not to be, it seems Sad

Michael, it still does not say when polling ends. Are we to infer that it ends at 19:00 BST on Wednesday 24 October 2007? Please could you make this important detail more explicit on the 'Poll Day' thread?

Thank you.

Well Mr Michael - I suggest you pour yourself a Newton & Ridley and relax.

Just can't imagine what our 'Ilda would've made of it all!

I was thinking 2 days does not seem a long time to get votes in, but in order to be fair I've not tried to have any influence on the voting system.

But I can voice my concerns as others have. Seems to me that possibly just a few cliquey groups will be voting if it's to be done in the next two days  Sad

I didn't come to R3ok as part of a clique, I offered non-biased non-cliquey moderator/administrator services to Michael, and remained that way, not getting cliquey with anyone, not even the ladies  Kiss and not bothered who I upset, just look out for trouble and deal with it.  Tongue

I would have preferred just one vote, with two weeks to vote.

Wonder if I can vote for myself. I suppose if all candidates vote for themselves then that cancels itself Cheesy
