At the risk of being told off .... again.... is anyone else so bored with all this that they don't even want to vote .... on three separate occasions... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes for three separate moderators?? Or is it just me ??

Not just you - at least four of us asked for just that.  But it is not to be, it seems Sad

Still seems the most logical thing to do.  Six candidates, three Mods to be elected, no chance of vote rigging as it is by Personal Message and only Michael will know the score, so no faction can gang up on anyone, and no tactical voting.  All rather dull with any Machiavellian aspects removed ...........

Do we really want to go through this every week for the next two weeks?

John, I've tried not to get involved in these questions as I spent so much time away. But I agree with you that a longer time to vote would have given more members a chance to vote. Some may be away, others may find it easiest to get online at weekends. And bear in mind that there are still a few members appearing who have been blissfully unaware of the events of the last few weeks.

Given these factors, 48 hours doesn't seem a particularly generous time slot, particularly without prior notice. A longer voting period and a vote for all three moderator positions would perhaps have been better. But that's only my opinion.

But I can voice my concerns as others have. Seems to me that possibly just a few cliquey groups will be voting if it's to be done in the next two days  Sad

I not getting cliquey with anyone, not even the ladies  Kiss and not bothered who I upset, just look out for trouble and deal with it.  Tongue

John, I wouldn't join any cliquey group that would have me as a Member!  Of course in reality Les Cliques are at this moment in time meeting in a Tapas Bar in Wandsworth plotting their every move over the spiced squid and olives......

I rather think your remark about "not even the ladies" was rather patronising btw.

Well, it had better be Michael's call. He's still the boss. So if it takes a while, so be it.

BTW, had we not better follow best voting practice and NOT campaign for any candidates during the voting period (this going for candidates themselves as well, of course)?

A, others flaunt their sexual preference on here, why shouldn't I ?  Cheesy

Martle,

Quite right. Well that's my lot of 'campaigning' done.  Wink

You do have a point but honestly how many on here 'know' all these other candidates?

Anyway I've got to go to the footie now, and I'll be actually working the next 48 hours so I might even forget to vote!

Cheers,

Maybe a link to R3OK_Poll's account would be useful on the poll page?

I'm obviously incredibly sad, but I really like voting in elections (general and local), perhaps because it gives me a rather misguided sense of participating 'in history', becoming one of the host of Tolstoy's faceless masses.
I've been really looking forward to voting in a moderator... and I'll be looking forward to voting in the second and the third.
Should I see someone about this?

Am I the only one who doesn't know how to "PM to R3OK_Poll" in order to vote? (Probably)

I know how to send personal messages to individual members but who is R3OK_Poll? What is the email address?

I do wish more explicit instructions had been given on the Poll Day thread (which is locked).

It bemused me too, Tony.

But if you click on 'Members' up at the top there it turns out that there is now a new member called 'R3OK_Poll'. I've just sent my vote to him/her and hope that was the right thing to do.

A hanging and of late somewhat silent chad writes:

Might it be possible to send an email to all members informing them of the poll, so that those who do not regularly log on or even watch these boards but are intermittently valued contributors might have the opportunity to log on in time to vote?

(I'm not thinking of myself. I tend to keep an eye on proceedings even when I'm not posting. But I noticed today for example that smittims hasn't logged on for a month. And yet sometimes he's here quite a lot. People like that might want to vote.)
