Hi Il Grande,

I was going to post an announcement about this but didn't quite get round to it yet.

Basically I wanted to try and take away the fears of some users who would like to keep their anonymity.  As an added bonus, it bolsters the security of the boards.

percy and others asked this question. Percy was the least polite  Wink

how about you learn to spell 'sponsored'?

The Sponsered Links is not one of 'our' sections. I can't correct the spelling.

I was just wondering if there are any plans for a concerts board to discuss / publicise recent concerts that people have been to?

please for a 'Forthcoming Concerts' section.  I'd like to advertise concerts that I play in if that's not against any rules

against the rules? don't be silly?  Cheesy

Right then, we now have a new section:

The Concert Hall
concerts: been to, going to, performing in

trying to cater for three aspects at once. Untidy?

BTW "sexually oriented" on the sign up conditions should read "sexually orientated". Churches are

The words 'orient' and 'orientated' were the subject of a thread on Radio 4's 'Word of Mouth' MB recently...but I don't think the word 'sexually' was included.

Not sure if this falls within your remit.

I like the Youtube idea of being able to rate programmes with stars. Quick and easy. Generally (I think) people complain more readily than compliment.

BTW "sexually oriented" on the sign up conditions should read "sexually orientated". Churches are oriented. "Sexually oriented", presumably simply means making love facing east. Does this equate to a Missionary Position ?
I am not sure your distinction is valid.

Hello Michael,

When I first logged in, I could click on user's names and see a 'profile', catch up on their latest posts etc, but now I just get a message saying I can't look at just anybody's profile. Am I doing something wrong or has the system been tweaked?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark

I have experienced the same and assumed that it was because posters didn`t wish other posters to access their information. Which is fair enough. I just tried clicking on you and got the same message. Maybe I should try clicking on myself. Now there`s a thought.

Michael put a note out somewhere that profile access was suspended while the avatar-changing issue was being investigated. Yes you can still look at your own profile and modify/update.

Well, picture this old dear wandering around, peering sideways at the screen, trying to find the right link and having to search the page with magnification and voice, and waving her white stick vaguely in front of her! I am managing pretty well (and I have seen a board similar in style to this one) but I can't find how to start a new subject on a board - the one I'm interested in is the Classical Music.  I can find the word REPLY at the bottom of a page, and I realise that 'Quote' in blue enables me to reply to a post and I've done that a couple of times, and I think I saw 'New Topic' once, but, as the song says, 'can't remember where or when'. So if someone could just take me gently by the arm saying 'There, there,' and point me in the right direction, I would be grateful!

Now all I have to do is remember where I'm posting this!!

Susan

Go to General Discussion or Classical Music on Three, the main MBs, wherever you want your post to appear.  On the right hand side click New Topic and away you go!  If you get really stuck personal message me and I'll guide you through it.

I don't often use a PDA / BlueBerry thing, but when I do...

a) you can't see any smileys
b) you can't log in / post

Any chance one or both of these could be fixed?  Would give me something better than work to do on the commute.

Hi Thompson,

I've never used a Blackberry, so don't exactly know how it works.

There's nothing we can do on the board to make it more PDA accessible, but I was wondering if there were any options on your blackberry that might help?  Or maybe if you saved a link to the login page.  Though I don't know never having used one.
