Hello, Jonathan. I shall also be at Ian Pace's 'Vingt regards' recital tomorrow; intending to 'sit in solemn silence' but would most welcome 'the sensation of a short sharp shock' - 'Hello, Stanley, I'm Jonathan'. I'll be wearing or carrying a maroonish coloured jacket and short sleeve shirt with small black dots. Probably looking benignly Lear-ish, too! I'll also be at the 18.45 hrs pre-performance talk.

Dear Stanley, I love the way people describe themselves. A short sleeve shirt with black dots, and Learish. Jonathan certainly won't miss you and your maroon jacket, but ....

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time, Jonathan. I hope you are able to resolve it, or it resolves itself soon.
Best wishes.

# 17 Anna I'll tell you my Nigel Hawthorne anecdotes one of these days. We were colleagues in a long running production in 1973. He'd nudge me, mischieviously, to enter the York Early Music Festival, tomorrow, proclaiming: "Attend the Lords of France and Burgundy..." Please don't let this unsettle you, Jonathan!

Well, I'm not really terribly distinctive (5 foot 11ish, slim with blondish hair) but I will be accompanied by a young woman who is 5 foot 1 and a half inches tall so that might give an indication of who I am!

Ah the joys of height differences between partners: my partner (who will be there tomorrow - you might know her from a brief sortie into here as N5) is a mere 5'1", whereas I am 6'3". Hope you'll all come into the green room (actually, I'll almost certainly be just outside the door there, having a cigarette) afterwards to say Hi, then we can all have drinks, etc.

I was told once by a police officer that I was 5'3" (I'm not; at least I don't think I am).

Jonathan You were on the Radio 3 boards when I first started posting,
Ditto! Many years ago. I remember looking at your shell website. Hope I'm not too late to say byebye here Jonathan - I've only just found this thread. But no doubt you'll pop in here in the not-too-distant future - if the prospect of thousands of unread posts doesn't put you off! All the best, MJ

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Well, this isn't my proper return (as we are still waiting for a phone line and ISP at my new address) but just a thanks for those who posted on this thread.
I do wish there was an easier way to change my address with all the places i placed on line orders with - this is taking ages!
Until next week, hopefully...

Oh Jonathan. It's all very sad but you must know what you're doing. I join with everyone else in hoping that all goes well for you in the future.
Au revoir then.
