Shouldn't this thread now be re-named "Hello"?

You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello

Great to have you back, Jonathan.

You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello

Standing at the door of the Pink Flamingo, crying in the rain.
It was a kind of so-so love, and I'm gonna make sure it never happens again.
You and I, it had to be, the standing joke of the year.
You were a sleeparound, a lost-and-found and not for me I fear.

Take your hands, off me.
I don't belong, to you  you see.
Take a look, at my face for the last time.
I never knew you, you never knew me.
Say hello, wave goodbye.

They don't write them like that anymore!  (Marc Almond & Soft Cell for those who don't know)

That's prompted me to put a Soft Cell CD on!

Atmospheres are tense today
Mother and father are rowing again
Silently seated around the table
You're the one that's getting the blame
Father looks at you like a snake
You play with the food upon your plate
No one seems to be on your side
Things that threaten to hurt your pride
Mother loves to be concerned
Using lessons that she learnt
Fathers never understand
When children have the upper hand

I'm trying to find a recording of Soul Inside which I've got on 7", def my fave Soft Cell track - I must have a copy of it somewhere, I've got no means of playing the single.

Edit: yippee, found it on minidisc!!!!!!!

The wind in my hair
And the black in my eyes
I was holding back tears
As I reeled with surprise
There was no one to phone
I just chewed at the time
I was waving goodbye
To control of my mind

And the beat of my heart
Marks the passing of time
And I just wanna scream to the sky
There are times when my mind is an explosion of feelings
I'm trying to hold on to the soul inside

Andy, before I start rummaging further (which could result in a very late night) I think I best say Goodnight to a fellow Soft Celler!

Tainted Love!!!
Wasn't that sent into space in some sort of capsule for aliens to sample? As an example of Earth culture... One of those half-listened to Radio 4 programmes - I was probably chopping veg at the time.

Not sure about that MabelJane but when Christopher Ecclestone was Doctor Who, in the episode called "The End of the World" the songs the iPod played were "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell and "Toxic" by Brittany Spears.  Not a lot of people know that!
