No, no, no, rm! Exercise, exercise! That's why I have my piano downstairs and my computer upstairs. I must do the climb about fifty times a day.

Mary, I have a similar, and often recurrent problem with the wi-fi network in my house here: the connection seems simply to dry up, and quite often the network icon goes blank or disappears entirely. Almost always this is solved by going to another room, crawling under a table and switching off, and then on again, the mains power supply to the network box (well, it's exercise!). Computers just get a bit overloaded with tasks sometimes. Like people, really. I have that problem with my router; it's just developed over the last couple of weeks: the usual flickering green display is reduced to a couple of orange lights until I unplug and start again. It's very irritating cos it's upstairs and I usually use the laptop downstairs... Solution - a bungalow! Every problem (even a problem problem) has a solution! I have exactly this problem as well - more often than not when my daughter's laptop is running at the same time as my desktop. Perhaps it is overload, but I've noticed it happening more often since my NTL connection turned into Virgin Media (along with a couple of complete "outages" and intermittent cable TV problems too). Coincidence?

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

I'm with BT and have been since the beginning. My router gets warm though...
Martle - where did you find that pic of me in my glory days? Sad to say, the only bits of me that bulge now are the bits that didn't then...

I discovered today that (one way or another) I have been secretly mocked for a long time. False face must hide what the false HEART doth know.

I discovered today that (one way or another) I have been secretly mocked for a long time. False face must hide what the false HEART doth know. Sorry to hear that Eruanto. Sometimes it happens. And I reckon it's important to ignore any back-chat and say that ultimately, you know the truth about you and anyone, indeed everyone can booger off. Chin up...

Just take no notice, eruanto, sticks and stones and all that: in the long run, it really doesn't signify; if it's all these folk can worry about, then they're obviously not worth the bother. OK, it will sting your soul for a wee while, but it's nothing but a passing blip: as biroc says, what you feel about yourself is ultimately all that matters. Hold your head high and ignore them.

Yes, eruanto, be true to yourself. Whoever is responsible has a problem. I was going to say you should pity them for having such empty lives that they don't have anything better to do, but it really isn't worth your time and trouble. Concentrate on your own life and don't worry about how such people are leading theirs.
