I'd second that. Or even Neurofen Plus (unless there's any reason for you not take codeine. Speak to your pharmacist first ). Short term pain relief until the tooth is removed

Ted, who cuts me grass "Hullo me Darling, you owe me £56."
Give you a cheque?
"Nah, cash under the doormat Tuesday.
Telephone bill of £53 to be paid.
£150 complying with Council's hedge Notice to be paid.
Hullo, Salty Sailors of Bristol Docks, can I sing you saucy songs for sixpence? My hair will tumble as you wish.
Mr. Micawber recommends!

Anty I urge you to resist this assignation under the doormat. This could be safely left to the East -West Divan orchestra of the supine.
If you must tarry at Bristol Docks, watch out for Igor and his singed electric accordion.

Janthefan & Mort, unfortunately, I cant take Ibuprofen, as I am asthmatic. In so doing am not able to take anteimflammatories(spelling?). Codoromol,is it(?), is one medication that i can take. I am much limited, unofrtunately.
Thank you for your advice!

I pranged my left wrist a few weeks ago and found coming off the painkillers was a battle in itself, even only after a few days. Sleep pattern totally skewed, disorientation, no energy etc. Good luck with your ague Tim.

Bbm, have you come across Paramol? It's paracetamol and codeine, with a higher codeine content than CoCodamol. You can get it at over the counter at the pharmacy in Tesco, and presumably other places. I think some of these medicines have different names in different shops.

BBM - if nothing else helps pro tem, try sucking a clove near the affected tooth. It should at least make it tolerable until you can get something definitive done.
Seconded, Kitty: cloves or cotton wool soaked in oil of cloves. I'm not sure if they're a wonderful natural anaesthetic or if they just taste so awful you forget all about the pain; but I've always found them very effective for short term relief from toothache.

I can't remember where I learned it... something about Dr.Hippokrates and cloves being a cooling influence for the pain of the overheated tooth... I must shut up before I get berated for quoting Galen again.

Thanks for all your advice, people. I am on co-codamol and Ertyromycin for that wretched infection, which causes the pain. Seems to have settled down now, thank goodness!! Band practice tonight!!

On my old computer, I could post pictures from Google Images on this board by copying them, then clicking Ctrl v in the images thingy on the reply form. This doesn't work any more. Anyone know why, or how I can do it?

Mary, I had probs with just posting from Google so I use photobucket and save photos to My Pictures then upload into photobucket and click direct link. (Photobucket is free btw) There is also a photobucket facility on the MB I think.

I'm not sure how transferable to different machines/programs that Ctrl+V shortcut is. If it doesn't work, you should still be able to paste something by right-clicking and selecting the "Paste" option, or by calling up the drop-down menu from "Edit" and clicking "Paste" there. (Presumably one of these two options is how you copy things in the first place?)

Thank you. I've managed to do it now, I think. It seems to be matter of clicking on the link rather than the image, as I used to, and then Ctrl+v seems to work. At least, it has done once, on the Twitchers thread. Let's see... A random choice of picture.....it works!
