Is that the actual Mistress Martlepuss? If so I shall use it to focus my healing chakra.
Glad to hear she is perking up.

On the subject of soothing savage beasts (and yes, we have a (neutered) ginger tom whose primary mode of recreation is to chase anybody who'll run) we find that a loaded water pistol is very effective.

Just to let all those of you who've been so kind know that Mistress Martlepuss is well on the mend. She's now walking normally on her paw most of the time, scampering even, though I notice her limping still when I'm 'not looking'. Anyway, I've been hiding her Anti-Bs in the crunchy mini-snacks she likes (I'm convinced they're the cat equivalent of mini-cheddars) and she's been wolfing those down, along with her regular portions of nosh, so I reckon she's well on the mend!

YESSSSS!! Great news Mart! You can now start to drop the fretting by a few notches. Maybe ... Gosh, I wish you hadn`t mentioned Mini Cheddars. Visions of them now dance before my eyes and torment my taste buds. Sigh.

Get well soon Mistress Martlepuss. * I had a girl cat attacked by a neutered tom cat many years ago. Charlie, the attacker, who's a fluffy black and white cat belonging to friends down the road, used to regularly pick fights with Tigger, our neutered ginger boy, but he did once attack poor Daisy, our fluffy wouldn't-hurt-a-fly black cat. I suspect that it was Charlie who bit our young Eddie the other day - and judging by the position of the bite, Eddie was running away. There were several puncture wounds and a big chuck of fur missing - fortunately the wound healed well. We've cat-sat Charlie and his black and white companion Panda for years, and on his own territory, Charlie is sweet and affectionate. They don't fight so much now but in the past, he and Tigger were both making the local vets very rich with all the injuries they inflicted on each other, the stupid boys. *Just seen your latest bulletin, Mart!

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

MJ, I was in the vet's surgery for a total of 15 minutes, 12 of which were spent in the waiting room.

Mart, you start paying from the minute you set foot over the door. Before anything has been done I`ve had some horrendous vet bills over the years. Have you got her insured? I bless the day that I took out insurance on my two. I finally saw the light when one of mine got a potentially life threatening urinary infection. It cost me over four hundred smackers.!<wince emoticon>
