I've only seen L'Elisir staged once - an amateur production here in Winchester - and it was good. The Dulcamara updated his patter song to include topical references, which went down well. I have seen the Villazon/ Netrebko DVD which is lovely - RV had to encore his 'Una furtiva lagrima'.
Not the correct Henze, I'm afraid, so the composer's not Massenet or Ravel...so I'll add Ravel to our list:
