Smetana  The Devil's Wall

Dvorak  The Devil and Kate

Johann Strauss II   (There's bound to be one. I'll be back in a minute.)

Nicely done, George!
That's a good one, John. Although I was thinking of another Strauss possibility, your idea would also work well.

Meyerbeer – Robert le diable
Dvorak – Kate and the Devil
Smetana - Čertova stěna, "The Devil's Wall"
Johann Strauss II - Diabolin-Polka (Devil of a Fellow)

And no need for these guys either...

Paganini – Caprice for solo violin in B flat major 'The Devil's Chuckle', Op. 1/13
Tartini – The Devil’s Trill
Boccherini – La casa del diavolo
Stravinsky – The Rake’s Progress (Nick Shadow) or The Soldier’s Tale

Or indeed "Satan/Clarinet 1" played by Mr Oliver Sudden in the opera "The Road to Hell is Paved with Slaughter" by an as yet unnamed colleague of Mr Oliver Sudden.

Ah yes, I was intrigued by this reference in the 'violent operas' thread!  Shocked

May I hazzard one......?

Bach
Smetana
Johann Strauss II
Stravinsky

Not necessarily a word connection, just a theme.

Evening, Tommo

Might there be an arboreal link here?

Smetana - From Bohemia's Woods and Fields
Stravinsky - Dumbarton Oaks
Strauss - Tales of Vienna Woods
Bach - Huh

Sorry to leave you hanging....  A few things to sort out yesterday.

And sorry too - no arboreal or nuptual links either.

A clue?  Strauss jn could be in there more than once.

An easier clue later!

Any of these any good, Tommo?

Bach – Brandenburg Concertos (written for the Margrave of B)
Smetana - Brandenburgers in Bohemia
Romberg – The Student Prince
Johann Strauss II – Mein Herr Marquis from ‘Fledermaus’

IGI - Well Done, our first hit!  Romberg sort of gave that bit away, but you do need the actual song title.
I've added another.  Also, you should know that the Stravinsky isn't a work of his, but just an association with him (unless you can find a work, of course....)

Bach
Smetana
Johann Strauss II
Stravinsky
Romberg - The Student Prince
Verdi

Could the Romberg be the Drinking Song (Drink! Drink! Drink!) ?

Hence:

Bach - Coffee Cantata
Strauss - Champagne Polka
Verdi - Brindisi from Traviata (or Iago's drinking song from Otello)
Smetana - The Bartered Bride: Beer's no doubt a gift
