Sousa  - Queen of Hearts

Got that right, George. And IGI, he takes no prisoners.

IGI - you didn't say: word or thematic connection this time?

Torke - King of Hearts
Sousa  - Queen of Hearts

Were you feeling quite flushed, George?!  Wink

The sporting references often run through my posts on this thread, but are not meant to be clues.
I don't know Javelin, but think it was written for an Olympic occasion. What music I've heard of his, I rather enjoy. I'm sure others would get excited over this particular piece.  Wink

Martle, you're right, I did forgot to say...it's a thematic connection you're seeking.

Yes, indeed! So, John gets us up and running, earning an extra composer clue...

Elgar
Haydn
Torke – Ecstatic Orange
Sousa
Puccini

Ah, thanks to the amendment, I can see where George was going with this. Perhaps you'd like Lyapunov's symphonic poem Hashish to be in the list? (Fun piece, btw) Sadly, that's not the link.

The Puccini is a particular aria in one of his operas.

I think we may be in blossom territory - there is an aria about cherry blossom in Madam Butterfly, IIRC?

(I say IIRC because I assume that IGI regards use of Kobbe as cheating ...  Grin)

There is a flower duet in Butterfly (use of Kobbé entirely legal Wink) but orange blossom's not part of the connection. George, not a repeat of the rainbow selection either, I'm afraid.

Time to add Purcell....Daniel Purcell.

Elgar
Haydn
Torke – Ecstatic Orange
Sousa
Puccini
Daniel Purcell
