Ok, while we're waiting for Jonathan to look in and sort us out, here's another to be getting on with. A thematic connection again, not a common word. I have a couple of subs at the ready.

Joseph Strauss
Thomas Pitfield
Malcolm Arnold
Prokofiev

I was working on the 'size' theme. 'Grand', 'micro' and hence the suggestion of mignonne ('small/dainty/ickle'(?)). I've been googling most of the afternoon for 'Liszt's Six Medium-Sized Songs Without Words'. No luck so far.

Oooh, another one. Hmm, 'Green, always green'. Trees?

Arnold  -  Larch Trees

Pitfield  -  The Elm Spirit

Prokofiev  -  Love of Tree Oranges

Marty,

It's not about methods of perambulation is it?

Whitfield:  Tramping Song
Arnold:  Colonel Bogeys March
Strauss:  Any one of his Galops or even a Trot?
Prokofiev:  Seven Songs and a March

Thought not.  Only killing time until my Goan red rice is cooked  Cheesy

Nothing doing, George and Anty. I didn't know June Whitfield wrote music!  Cheesy  But, Anty, one of your other answers is...  sort of,... close.  Wink (That's not a clue, just an encouragement!)

Nothing doing, George.

Not even if I come bounding up wagging my tail with Prokofiev's 'Gnarled Oaks' and lay that at your feet too, Martle? Cry

Oh bother, Marty.  A typo I didn't notice  Cheesy

Sort of close?  But which one?

Well, got to love you and leave you for a while, my super-strength chillie has been bubbling away for a couple of hours, my mixture of Goan red and wild rice is cooked.  A feast has been prepared Chez Antheil.  By the way, tonight is a Waxing Gibbous Moon, (full moon is tomorrow) and we are promised -6 degrees.  Hence the chillie.  I am sure when I return George or IGI will have solved it.

Sorry, George. No. (I feel a slight twitch in the direction of the thumbscrews.  Grin) Nothing remotely green about this connection. Good game, this, eh?

Anty - sounds delicious. I shall myself be popping a fresh slab of moussaka in the oven before too long.

Good evening, Il Grande!

No. For those with eyes to see, I have already given a teeeeeny clue...
And another clue, less useful, might be that I'm pretty sure we've had this 'theme' before; but certainly not with the same works/composers...

Strauss - Feuerfest! 'Fire-Proof!'
Arnold - The Smoke
