Oh, Ruth's just beat me to that one! How about Fire Spirits or The Fiery Angel for the Prok? I'm sure the Grieg must be an elf or a fairy!

Anty, I edited my previous post with a suggestion for the Prok... Two minds thinking as one Ruth but I suggested Hamlet and it's not right. How about Dvorak - The Spectre's Bride? Ketleby - The Phantom Melody? edited with addition

Yes to Ruth's suggestion of Le spectre de la rose from Les nuits d’été and to Anty's Dvorak and Ketèlbey answers:
Prokofiev Berlioz - Le spectre de la rose Ligeti – Apparitions Grieg – Dvorak – The Spectre’s Bride Maw – Ghost Dances Beethoven – Piano Trio, ‘Ghost’ Ketèlbey - The Phantom Melody Corigliano – The Ghosts of Versailles
The Grieg and Prokofiev are both piano pieces...

I defer to Anty on this one. She was first to suggest the ghostly connection, after all. Meanwhile, I was in my office kitchen thinking of words from the song titles in Les nuits d'été which might supply the key to the puzzle. No sooner had I thought "oooh, bet it's 'spectre'" and returned to my desk than Anty had beaten me to it

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

It's not going to be an IGI quadruple bluff and turn out to be 'Valse, is it? [Lights go out, sounds of klaxons and flashing word VALSE appears on screens.] Thought not.
