Nagoya Guitars is actually a guitar arrangement of N.M., prepared by O David Tanenbaum.

Safri Duo, Per Nørgård: sounds promising. Jakob ter Veldhuis: big thumbs down from here. I'll be interested to know how you get on with that...

I'll let you know, Richard. I have a couple of Safri Duo discs, including one which has some Bach/ Chopin arrangements, plus Nørgård's Well-tempered Percussionists and Veldhuis' Goldrush which, from what I've read online, was the impetus for the later 'Concerto'.
They also perform a very convincing arrangement of Ravel's Alborada del gracioso!

Considering that neither original nor arrangement are particularly memorable, your ignorance is a kind of bliss.

Is it the Miracle of The Golden Cockerel?

It's not from The Golden Cockerel, but it is an orchestral episode from one of his operas.

Is it in The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh, where Fevronia's miracle renders Great Kitezh invisible to the enemy?

But I don't know what the specific bit of music is called.

Well, that certainly covers a miraculous event, but the final piece of the jigsaw is from another R-K opera, where this interlude includes the specific word 'miracle' (in the plural... Wink)
