I am having no luck whatsoever.

Here's a slightly easier one though:

Arvo Pärt
Milton Babbitt
Helmut Lachenmann
Michael Nyman

Sorry, no reserves as of yet, but may find some anon.

For some reason, I can't stop thinking about Terrains vagues but I can't see how that has anything to do with anything.

Time to go to work.

No joy there, hh. Perhaps an extra composer may help.

IGI,

You said it was thematic?  Anything to do with coming into Autumn/Winter?

Ridout - Snow Scene or Autumn
Nyman - Frozen Music
Norgard - Winter Music

No, thought not!  Cheesy

Sudden thought - Constellations/Illuminatons?

Not linked to the seasons, but....

Sudden thought - Constellations/Illuminatons?

What did Sudden think? I thought he was in Paris? It seems his thoughts could be worth pursuing, young Antheil...  Wink

IGI, when I said I had a sudden thought I did not mean I had an Oliver moment  Cheesy  I cannot see he said anything?

I did think constellations/light this morning but know cannot remember why I jotted down the phrase, so as a kick off how about:

Norgard - Constellations
Ridout - Light and Shade
Messiaen - Canyons aux Etoiles
Britten - Les Illuminations

So are we going for a full set of twelve then? In which case the Britten would be the Gemini variations for example?

If it is signs of the zodiac rather than constellations

Britten - Gemini Variations
Gretry - Richard coeur de Lion (Leo?)
Norgard - Libra
Barber - Capricorn Concerto
Messiaen - La Vierge et L'Enfant (Virgo)
Goeyvaerts - Aquarius
Satie - Dreaming Fish (Pisces)
Michael Nyman - Up for Crabs (Cancer)
Ridout - Ferdinand the Bull (Taurus)

Lumme, if IGI sets fiendish teasers like this to us as his friends, what ever does he get errant school children to do to learn the error of their ways?
