Coates - The Eighth Army March

Does the Ayleward have a link to purification/ purify as the Latin term februum means purification?

Coates bang on. Yes, the Ayleward does have that link.

I don't suppose there's any chance he set the same text as Handel...And he shall purify?

What is there left to figure out yet in this cryptic conundrum of yours, HH?

How are you enjoying getting entlarvt by IGI? I know from personal experience how gratifying it can be.

Do we have an English equivalent of entlarvt?

What is there left to figure out yet in this cryptic conundrum of yours, HH?

Cryptic
1 William Boyce (New Year ode)
2 Richard Ayleward (something about purification)
3 Gustav Holst, 'Mars' from The Planets
4 Richard Barrett, Opening of the mouth
5 Ruggero Leoncavallo, Maià
6 Orlando di Lassus, Pronuba Juno tibi
7 George Frideric Handel, Giulio Cesare
8 Dr John Blow
9 Harry Partch, And on the Seventh Day Petals Fell in Petaluma
10 Eric Coates, The Eighth Army March
11 Jan Zelinka
12 Richard Rodgers, 'Slaughter on Tenth Avenue' from On Your Toes

Quick
1 John McCabe, January Sonatina
2 Cornelius Cardew, February Pieces
3 John Philip Sousa, Liberty Bell March
4 Thomas Morley, April is in my Mistress Face
5 Orlando Gibbons, Now each flowry bank of May
6 Richard Rodgers, 'June is bustin' out all over' from Carousel
7 Charles Ives, 'The Fourth of July' from A Symphony: New England Holidays
8 Edward Elgar, 'The Fourth of August' from The Spirit of England
9 Kurt Weill, 'September Song' from Knickerbocker Holiday
10 Dmitri Shostakovich, Symphony no 2 ('To October')
11 Arnold Bax, November Woods
12 Michael Torke, December

How are you enjoying getting entlarvt by IGI? I know from personal experience how gratifying it can be.

Do we have an English equivalent of entlarvt?

A quick and carefree google reveals that it translates as 'debunked' or 'unmasked'...
It's nice seeing it all fall together.

If the Blow, Ayleward and Boyce are still outstanding by tomorrow night I shall reveal all.

Yes, the Ayleward does have that link.

I don't suppose there's any chance he set the same text as Handel...And he shall purify?

No, it's not. I think that the purification bit is quite possibly in a subtitle (which is probably cheating).

Oh. And an extra clue. IGI was four years out with his most recent Boyce guess.

Surprise, surprise - Boyce wrote New Year Odes for 1770 and 1778!

However, a bit of detective work reveals that the 1770 one is subtitled Forward JanusCheesy

Ah, I did enjoy the Uranus suggestion, autoharp! I can imagine one or two readers trying to use that in a future connection!

Any luck with Zelinka (and no, that's not a typo)?
Or the cryptic for August by Dr Blow? It's from a play called The Royalist by Thomas d'Urfey.

The Ayleward anthem seems to be rarely sung (in fact anything other than his Responses seem to be very rarely sung - I might look into this).
An anthem by the same name is often sung however, but it's by his teacher's father...
