No Strauss on my list... The Sousa will do very nicely. How about the Schumann that was there originally?

Leoncavallo - Maia?
Handel - Giulio Cesare
OK we've moved into the cryptics now, so I'm assuming you've twigged the connection. Both works are correct. Maia is a god and so is Mars. How about the Schumann that was there originally?

The John Blow is presumably to do with Caesar.

Cor. Talk about getting the bit between your teeth. I was thinking especially of the DSCH Symphony. But yes, they're all right!

Phew! What a relief, hh! I think the cryptic clues meant the quickies were rather neglected, but that's our own fault.
Is the Harry Partch anything to do with Michaelmas? Rodgers - Christmas at Hampton Court?

I'm afraid that you're chasing the wrong type of connection here. What is the connection between Julius Caesar and July, between Mars and March, between 'opening' and April?

It's the 'opening of the mouth' and April I don't see. (Although a wiki search reveals that "The traditional etymology from the Latin aperire, "to open," in allusion to its being the season when trees and flowers begin to "open," is supported by comparison with the modern Greek use of ἁνοιξις (opening) for spring." In which case, December = dec = 10...Rodgers: Ten cents a dance? Partch - Dance of the Seven Veils?

You've got the link. The Partch and Rodgers that you've selected weren't the ones I was looking for because I was looking specifically for 'seventh' and 'tenth' respectively (the Partch is an hh favourite!).
