Are you there, roslyn?

I've just had a terrible thought re Ian's tricky group! He said to 'use your eyes' and asks questions like 'where did you begin?'...

Well...where did you begin when you first opened this forum this morning? At the login section, headed 'Welcome, Guest'....Blow's 'Welcome Every Guest'?!!

Are they all titles of headings/ sections/ threads?

No, sorry, you're totally on the wrong track there (would have been an interesting link).

Try 'with what did you begin' (though I don't know your profession, so you may not have done so - but I reckon there's a fair chance that plenty of people here will have).

My Blow reference material is rather scanty - Welcome, Welcome every guest is, acc to Grove, ?St Cecilia's Day; that doesn't help with Zimmermann; the first piece that comes to mind when I think of him is his Requiem für einen jungen Dichter. Something about polystylism? Something that could apply both to the opera and the Requiem?

No, not those pieces.

Er - no..... Wink

Some of you might kick yourself when you see the answers (at least the link). I am going to give a deadline for this - I'll be out much of the afternoon and evening, but will post the answer by 1:30am - see if anyone can get it before then!

You can suggest whatever you like!

To confuse things even more, you might consider (indirectly) some type of Czech link. Wink

Maybe Ian deserved Flowers, which case it might be Charpentier's La Couronne de Fleurs...

Still trying to nut out the others though.

Strauss - The Blue Danube?

Every Good Boy Deserves Favour = Moody Blues (the Czech link being that they were asked to make a rock and roll version of Dvořák's New World Symphony)

Any warmer?
