The words you are looking for are Hebrew (which should point you in the direction of the composer). Delius still not right but I think the clue should do it.

Well done Mark and rosylyn. You both posted at 12.03 so it's a tie (though Mark did the hard work.

Night all.

Well, I never knew Schoenberg wrote a 'Kol Nidrei'...you learn something new every day.

Am only just investigating Schoenberg. Yesterday (and I cringe to admit it) I listened to Gurrelieder for the first time. Blew me away completely!

 Embarrassed

...i feel a little embarrassed about muscling in at the end, IGI - sorry!

Interesting - Orange Claw Hammer came top of my simple Google search for Zappa + orange, and was jointly attributed to both Frank and the Cap'n! Uncharted territory for me, I'm sorry to say...

Gurrelieder - what an amazing last ten minutes!!! It's a long while since I've heard it - must give it a listen soon!

I got caught out last week with a Zappa/Beefheart link in Ian's Chinese New Year puzzle. I was so amazed anyone got the rainbow one so quickly I didn't properly check!!

(You did get the two Williams reference didn't you? Walton + Shakespeare = Richard III and the acrostic!)

Night all!

Well, it's a song on CB's album "Trout Mask Replica" (a masterpiece of modern American music), which was produced by FZ.

Sea/water?

Takemitsu - I hear the water dreaming
Britten - Sea Pictures
Schubert - Songs to be sung on the water (Auf dem Wasser zu singen)
Bernstein - On the waterfront.

(Bernstein also conducted the Sea Pictures at his last concert with...)

Huh
