On a slightly different tack Milly, I know when I lost 4 stones ( deliberately!!) several years ago I learnt that for me I had to give up ALL chocolate and not even taste it ... or I was sunk!

I was also advised that if I had a bad day and ate all the wrong things, to pick myself up the next day and start again - not say 'Ah well, I knew I couldn't do it' and carry on as before!

I feel I've missed out on this chocolate thing. It's very nice and all that. I'd never say no to a Yorkie. But I haven't ever experienced this post-chocolate 'buzz' that people talk about. Is it for real? What's it like? Is there anything I should be doing to enhance my chocolate-life? Is it [tread carefully here, George, or you will have a feminist musicologist after your Cadburys Snack]......is it, a girl thing?

I've never had it either, George. I've a feeling it might be connected with coffee. I don't like coffee. I can just about force myself to drink it if given it in company and think refusal might offend, but I certainly don't derive pleasure, or fulfilment of a lack, from it. Chocolate I find more pleasant, but I don't get this 'buzz' from it.

I'm off for a cup of tea. Smiley

Sounds like you've chosen your brand of chocolate appropriately, George:

Worried of St Albans.

Dear Worried of St. Albans,

A recent survey showed that many women when asked, preferred chocolate to sex.  Something to do with the chemical release of seratonin I believe.  Why this should work for men and not women I have no idea but it seems to have a sound scientific basis from what I've read.   Grin

Or possibly something to do with the man holding the clipboard? Smiley

Mystery.

Why would women prefer chocolate to sex...?

I like having BOTH at the same time, is this unusual?

(I'm an Upper Gastro intestinal cancer nurse specialist, and have never yet heard of a correlation between chocolate and stomach cancer....)

Jan - you're being naive! Have you ever heard of the Cervix? Would you like me to submit another cancer pickie?
