Who, why and when?!! Your addiction to chocolate may be worse than I had feared Milly. Is there anything further I can do to help you?  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Don't worry Baz.  This has NEVER applied to me!  Kiss

OK Milly - if you're sure.

And here's a rhetorical answer A: it probably depends mostly upon the quality of the chocolate that's on offer.

I feel I've missed out on this chocolate thing. It's very nice and all that. I'd never say no to a Yorkie. But I haven't ever experienced this post-chocolate 'buzz' that people talk about. Is it for real? What's it like? Is there anything I should be doing to enhance my chocolate-life? Is it [tread carefully here, George, or you will have a feminist musicologist after your Cadburys Snack]......is it, a girl thing?

Sounds like you've chosen your brand of chocolate appropriately, George:

I know and appreciate that this has nothing whatsoever to do with "The New Musicology" (which, rather like "The New Complexity" and for far from dissimilar reasons, has already been looking quite antiquated for some while), but why are you presenting such anti- - or at least non- feminist stuff here? Is this possibly symptomatic of the notion that sufficiently severe curtailment of cigarette smoking can affect one's otherwise feminist sensibilities (even if only temporarily) to the point at which certain heavily gendered constructs might risk being shoved out to grass the while? Just curious...

How can any girl now walk into a bar in Yorkshire and feel safely on home (or at least non-alien) territory?

Best,

Alistair

Er, Alistair, I think some very heavy irony (concerning Yorkie Bars and their promotion) may possibly have passed you by! Wink

A: It's going well, not quite down to 10 a day yet on a regular basis (was 12 today, but some days it has been 10) - hopefully I should stabilise at 10 by the end of the week. Then down to less!

Mmmmm - have some nice steaks in the fridge....

Have you tried marinading them?

Marinating Your Steak Could Prevent Cancer
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/295424/marinating_your_steak_could_prevent.html

"Armed with this information, Smith and his team measured HCA levels in grilled round steaks before and after marinating them. For marinating, a product with rosemary and thyme, found in many grocery stores for marinating purposes was used. This product also contained pepper, allspice, and salt. This particular marinade yielded an 87% decrease in HCA levels. The decrease was correlated to the high levels of antioxidants in the marinade."

Not quite, actually - just thought of another angle, for what it may or may not have been worth...

Incidentally, as a Scotsman, I wonder what a deep-fried Yorkie bar would be like? I merely speculate here, of course, but I daresay that a couple of those a day might take many a smoker's mind off smoking for abit...

Best,

Alistair

This seems to be a suitable place to ask this question
I do get a nice buzz out of chocolate and find that it can quite transform my mood (as long as I don't eat too much) but let's just say that it is as nothing compared.

Sex.

Never smoked so I can't compare smoking to sex or to chocolate.
Perhaps some other more experienced than I can chip in here?

No, no no no no!  Nobody is suggesting that eating chocolate is the same as an orgasm.  However the release of seratonin apparently gives you the same contented, fulfilled, happy feelings that you would experience post-orgasm.  You see that's the big difference between men and women - men just want the actual thrill.  With women it's much more complicated both before, during and after.  Nothing compares with an actual orgasm but there's much more to making love than that.

Anyway, you're not bothered if a Yorkie doesn't phone you afterwards.   Grin
