Martle, I assume you've not been up the Euromast then?  I have although I was about 10 at the time!

The other really terrifiying one is that bridge in the adverts for Northern Ireland which is made of wood and leads to a rocky island.  I've crossed that as well and that really was scary.

Sorry Mort, but when Jonathan mentioned it, I had to look it up and it was so hideous I thought sharing it would help. Me, that is. It didn't really...  Cry

Oh all right then. You`ve just saved yourself from a scarey chimmney picture. NOT!

Sound of devilish laughter offstage.

You poor people.  I feel so sorry for all of you with those dreadful phobias.  I'm really glad I don't have any.  I could quite happily climb up the outside of that tower and then abseil down.  I've been to the edge of Beachy Head, to the top of Blackpool Tower, up the World Trade Building in New York.  Went up a very strange building in Hong Kong with a glass lift - can't remember what that was.   Not scared of heights, crowds, confined spaces, spiders, snakes...nothing.  For all those who just shouted out "where there's no sense there's no feeling" - ha! I ignore you!  Seriously, I wish I could help you.  Sad

George, Jonathan - a pox on your houses.

Mort, do keep up! I'm just fooling with our erstwhile troll. Hey, imagine, we had a troll! Bit like learning your first swear word. Er, possibly...

My mum has an equal - possibly worse - fear of heights than me, but in recent years we seem to have fallen into this unspoken competition to do something more vertigo-inducing than the other. Last summer she was very chuffed because she crossed this bridge whilst on holiday. I haven't even tried, and doubt I ever will ...

Anybody been up this one?

I can't say I have, Milly. But I've been on the pier with the Chief Constable of Lancashire and the Head of Special Branch Cool  I see that the BBC is broadcasting live the switching on of the Blackpool Illuminations tomorrow  -  on Radio 2   Huh

Shows you how much I know!  Who's switching them on, do you know George?

What on earth were you doing on the pier with Special Branch and the Chief Constable?  Watching Chubby Brown?  Grin
