Mornin' all!

Lovely day here in Sarf East London... what's it like where you are?

Glad to hear how happy you are with your dog Milly. I used to have griffons ( griffon bruxelois)... wonderful, small but tenacious little dogs. I bought my first so she could go through the cat door when I was at work and so use the garden when I was out. Worked a treat. They are both long gone and my life style now means no more dogs. Never mind, I have my memories!!

Morning!  Just come back after he's had a long run and he's temporarily flaked out.  (I'm permanently flaked out!)

Not raining here and not too cold, but grey and dismal so far.  Dudley wouldn't even get his head through a cat flap!  Grin

It's still raining here, though the wind's died down: I can no longer hear the distant insistent roar of rollers on the reef just down the coast.

It's none too warm, either....

An interesting mental image! You now have me considering possible alternatives to the typical hinged door, clearly a very selfishly anthrocentric design solution.

Mmmm: and with reason. Might not its original introduction and adoption have been predicated precisely by the desire to exclude wolverines, sabre-toothed tigers and even sundry disreputable hominids from the family abode? (Although it may have been several millenia before a practical design was available to all and sundry, by which time many of the original predators had unfortunately succumbed to extinction.)

In other words, typical of the design-to-production lag. By the time the product reaches the mass market, the original specifications are outdated, and the marketing department has to apply spin to make it relevant again.

Afterthought: people who live in glass houses, ... shouldn't.

Good morning.  Very early but I'm awake so.... Smiley

Too dark to see much of what is outside weather-wise.  It's been raining in the night I suppose.  R3 is good at the moment, till Breakfast starts at 7 and then it goes downhill a bit.  Too R2-ish for me now.

Good morning. I woke up at 6, too - too early in my opinion but if I'm awake any time after 5.30-ish I'm quite incapable of going back to sleep.

I'm listening to Breakfast. It's OK so far - no jazz!! Last night I listened to Classic FM for the first time for ages (to avoid the Ella programme ) but it was very irritating, with the adverts and ignorant presenters.

Mornin` Milly. Too dark to see what`s happening outside here too, but I can hear that it`s raining. I had the most disturbed night Angry One minute hot, one minute cold, shakes and shivers. Woke up feeling bleegh. Just taken my temperature and it is way up. I`m off back to bed. Night all ! Grin

Oh, the Dawn interlude from Peter Grimes is on! It's Britten's birthday, and St Cecilia's day.

Wasn't it wonderful?  May be a good day's listening after all!  Cheesy

Sorry you're feeling rough Mort!  Hope you manage to throw off whatever nasty bug is invading your system.  Rest up - although - isn't Thursday your day for work?  Bad luck.

I opened up a can of worms at the other place yesterday with my Ella Fitzgerald thread.    Roll Eyes

I hope you feel better soon, Mort.  I certainly hope you don't have the bug I got earlier this month!  Get plenty of rest.

Good morning everyone!

Mort,

That sounds suspiciously like flu. It's a very nasty strain this year, so stay well wrapped up, and take plenty of warm fluids. You're going to feel really whacked for most of the time too, so don't overdo anything. Have you enough food in the house? You probably won't feel like eating much, but if you're short on catfood, is there anybody nearby who could do your messages for you? (Eng. trans: go shopping on your behalf?)
