Ta to one and all for your get well wishes Ron, the people who run the local shop are quite happy to stagger round here with 42,000 tins of cat food. And a bar of chocolate for me! Thanks for thinking of that, Ron Milly - Gosh I see what you mean about your can of worms over at TOP. Cripes!

And it's a 'Good Morning' all from here, even though it's decidedly parky, despite there being no frost.
Sick bay roll-call:
Mort, how are you this morning? Anybody else displaying 'flu symptoms while we're about it?
This weather's coming from the north, and moving south, so wrap up well!
Ron

Good morrow young Sirs and Mesdames, Brass monkeys oop 'ere. Bought some thermals! Really bitter nip in the air. Fine time to get a young energetic dog - Milly never learns.

Good morning. It's pretty chilly here on the southern outskirts of Central London. Today I am giving thanks that I am not moving house, which is what I was doing on this day last year. I am also giving thanks that I am not going out tonight, which is what I have been doing every night so far this week. Mort - hope you're feeling better today

Just be thankful that there's no such thing as a brass elephant, Milly. Imagine the damage they'd do to the roads in cold weather.

Here, sir ! And feeling decidedly more Mort-like this morning No temperature etc., etc. I haven`t seen any brass monkeys yet, but it feels as though they`re on the way. Brrr.

Glad it wasn't flu, Mort. Sounds just like the thing I had for about 24 hours a few weeks ago - all shaky and shivery with a temperature, going hot then cold, plus a bad headache. The next day I was a bit wobbly but much better. Did too much too soon though and stayed weak for days - make sure you allow yourself plenty of rest. Wasn't going to wait till morning to post on this thread but to be on topic here's an early Good Morning to you all for Saturday. MJ xxx

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Good morning. Glad you are feeling so much better Mort. Blowing a gale here, pouring with rain and still very dark, but hopefully I have a nice day ahead. Hope you all do too.

Good morning A late night last night ironing and watching a dvd (it seemed like a good idea at the time ). Continuing my exploration of Edinburgh churches (haven't got very far yet - just been to the two cathedrals), I'm going to the Episcopal church round the corner, but I have elected to go to Matins (11:15) rather than Eucharist (9:45) as a result of my late night, so I'm currently enjoying having woken up but not having had to get out of bed. I think that I shall have a soft-boiled egg for breakfast...

Boiled egg! That sounds good. I think I shall as well. We've an artistic day ahead of us. It's Xmas display time in the school hall and the theme is Frosty the Snowman. I've bought all the stuff to make a nice collage and lots of Xmas stickers to make a border on the colourful A3 card. That should be great fun. Other than that we're not going out except to take the dog for a walk. I'm cooking a roast dinner for later. Mmm. Nice, all cosy and warm here. R3 hasn't been terribly exciting since 7 a.m! We've had such gems as the Blue Danube, a baroque Handel aria which was awful.... in fact the only thing that's been any good so far was a Rachmaninov piece for two pianos and that was fantastic. Hey ho.
