A rather belated Good Morning to all and hoping that everyone has a lovely and peaceful day.  I shall be listening to R4 Humph in Wonderland whilst I sort out a legless bird in the kitchen  Cheesy

Glad you had a good Christmas Day, Milly - enjoyed your snowy pix over on the Photographs thread.

Not this year it isn't. Just back from Norfolk, where it was either foggy or raining most of the time (unusually, I must say), three out of the five of us were (was? too tired to care) ill almost all of the time with gastricky things. One loo, septic tank. Somehow we managed to have Christmas dinner, and now I'm home I'll start to appreciate the presents, but oh, is it really worth it?

Happy Boxing Day! I'm going to go to bed and watch Ballet Shoes. Ah, bliss.

Mary, aren't those Ian's roses?

Is there something we should know?  Wink

(Edit: and a few minutes later they changed back again. How curious...  Roll Eyes)

Hope you feel better soon Mary.  I'm going to watch Ballet Shoes as well.  It was one of my favourite books as a child and I've never seen a film of it before.  I'm so looking forward to it.

Erm, when I said I was on R3, I only meant that very loosely..... Grin

Hope you had a lovely Christmas too MabelJane.  Glad you liked the pix.  I've been printing some off today for my mum and most of them are very dark.  We perhaps needed a better quality camera than my son's little digital one for such inhospitable weather/light conditions.  We have red eyes on almost all of them and the reflective bands on our clothes have spoiled a few.  We also took some through windows and the reflection of the inside lights are up there in the sky like so many UFOs!   Grin Grin Grin (I always wondered how they did UFO pix.... Cheesy)  It was dusky and misty during the few daylight hours and most of the scenery looks a bit ghostly.
I'm sure Ron would have made a much better job of it.

I noticed my avatar had mysteriously changed and changed it back. I didn't know they were Ian's  Smiley.

Milly - the 1975 television version of Ballet Shoes is on YouTube in 14 parts!! I think this one will be better, but the 1975 kids could dance.

Mary, I've just found my ancient copy of the book itself.  Missed the 70s film but this one seems to be an all-star cast.  Eileen Atkin is in it. I think she's an amazing actress.  I loved her in Cranford.  Wonderful voice and facial expressions.

I'm sure anyone would have had difficulties under those conditions Milly - even Ron!  Smiley

Good morning!  I don't know where everyone has gone.  Could it be that some of us have lives?Huh??  Grin

Been listening to SMP this morning as usual but I do prefer Rob Cowan.  She doesn't do anything wrong at all - I think I prefer lower voices.  Well men.  Yes that's it.  Kiss

Any road oop, weather here damp, grey and drizzly and I want to return to the snowy lands but I can't.  Sad

What are you all doing for New Year's Eve?  Mad parties, Bacchanalian orgies?  We're at home chilling out.   Cheesy

Hello, Milly. I'm not posting much because I feel ill again, so I'm gloomy. Stomachy stuff, feel awful. I've had it on and off for ages, don't know what to do. I feel too ill to go to the doctor, and it's not really bad enough to call a doctor out. I wouldn't even have thought of it, except it's been so long. I wondered about NHS Direct, but to be honest I have no faith in it.

I'm not looking forward to being kept awake by noise tomorrow night.

Sorry to be so depressing.

Mary, if you feel too ill to go to the doctor, you really should have the doctor come to you.  I've only had good experience with NHS Direct - but I've only used it for the child.  In this area, the doc on duty has always been very efficient.

You've been having this stomachey problem for a while now, perhaps you ought to have it investigated in the New Year just to put your mind at rest?  That said, there are so many "bugs" about at the moment.  Almost everyone I know is below par with something.  I've had a low-level background sniffle/cold for weeks now, which although it isn't in any way an illness, does stop me feeling 100%.

At any rate, you're not being depressing at all.  I do hope you feel better soon.   Kiss
