Yes, it is ok. I did not know for a while I will go ahead with reading Joyces books. I was afraid. But now I bought both books and I am going to start reading.
Thank you.

I've replied to your earlier post over on the Literature thread. I'll be really interested to know how you get on with it!

I'm going to attend to my own ablutions now.

Good morning.  This serves me right for going to bed at 10 p.m., I suppose.

Yesterday was quite a day, what with one thing and another.  Very interesting off the board as well as on.

Off to make a cuppa and back to bed so goodnight again.  Grin

Morning (just) all.
Another heavy sleep. Another 'morning of the living dead' feeling.

That must be almost unique: a day when I was up earlier than hh! Shocked

Didn't pop in here until I'd got a couple of other things out of the way though. G'day all.

Richard, did you get a Eurostar in the end? Or have I missed a story about that somewhere else? ...

Glad you asked.  Grin It certainly wasn't as bad as PW's experience last week: I arrived, as suggested, 30 minutes before my train was originally due to leave (at 10am), stood in a long queue for ages and was then given a seat on the first Brussels train which left at 1.25pm. Which it did in fact; then it was slower than usual and then I was hanging around in Lille for an hour before being picked up, but I've had far worse experiences at airports so I mustn't grumble.

However, somewhere along the line I caught a cold, which has slightly put the dampers on this week so far. I am taking a course of this locally-produced medicine.

I wish people good morning,

These two people are married. I remember that adults were talking about them when they got married. Everyone thought their marriage will not last. He was an opera artist and very popular popular song performer.
She was a soloist in Bolshoi Theater.

I recently saw them on TV, married and happy. He has many other interest in life (painting and writing and something else), but he is not singing anymore. I don't know about her.

The recorded concert celebrates the day of militzia (police). There is a slogan in red letters there.

Good morning t-p (and everyone else of course!)

I can recommend George's little book to you "What Does it all Mean?" by Thomas Nagel.  It's exactly what it says on the front "a very short introduction to philosophy".  Concise and succinct.  Just a basis from which to move on to greater things.  I got it for £5.99 from Amazon - delivered next day.  It's easy to read and understand but covers a lot of ground.

Good morning. There's nothing quite like a pot of strong coffee to get the day started (at 11.23am).

Hello, Mr Dr Dr Richard Barrett.
I am happy that you are back from your trip, though with a cold.
I hope you are feeling better.

May be this will cheer up, though it is too simplistic.
I don't know if there are any contemporary music for this instrument.

In fact I shall not be back from my trip until next Monday (at which point it will almost be time to start packing for the next one).

I had a horrible coughing fit while at breakfast this morning. The businessmen at the next table looked as disgusted as if they'd never seen anyone who was a bit ill before.  I felt like throwing my cereal over their suits.
