This was the Ice Bar that opened every night for drinks.

This was me arriving safely at the bottom of the snow-tube slope.  Very relieved to be alive.  I've never been so scared in all my life.  Very fast descent!

I won't bore you with any more but it really was the most fantastic place and I really recommend that you go if you have the chance.  Smiley

And a very Happy Christmastide (there are at least another eleven days to go to Twelfth Night, and another 39 to Candlemas) to you, Milly.

Don't worry about boring us.  Go on, tell us about the trip of your decade.

I must say I notice that the light level in your heart-warming snowscapes are a bit low.  I can cope with cold in the UK, up to a point, but the dark at mid afternoon really depresses me without alcohol, music or religion.  I imagine in Lapland at this time of year there is even less daylight to go round then in London.

When you say "Lapland", do you mean Finland or Northern Sweden?

It sounds as though you had a ball.  That's wonderful.

Hello Don, Merry Christmas.

It was Finland.  It was very dark indeed most of the time - it went to dusk for a couple of hours across lunchtime that was all.  It's dark/winter for 8 months of the year and then of course there is no darkness for the duration of summer - land of the midnight sun.

This has turned out to be a bit of a problem with the photos unfortunately and some of them are too dark really.  We tried to capture the northern lights which were superb but the photos aren't wonderful.

We had a wonderful time!  I wouldn't mind doing it again next year.... Smiley

Your relief is evident on your face!  Cheesy

It's a good job you can't see my face Mr. Dish!  Not a pretty sight.  Wink

But the two little black dots -- those are not your eyes? And the upturned black line is not your mouth?

Grin  My mouth was definitely NOT upturned.  I must admit the hat has provided an excellent optical illusion.  It looks like Mr. Happy.  Grin

The weather here is not a bit Christmassy.   Sad  Wet, gloomy, dreary.   I would go for longer next time I think.

"The more megapixels, the worse the image"

Interesting article in the Guardian: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/technology/2007/12/26/the_more_megapixels_the_worse_the_image_on_digital_cameras.html
